The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer has made its return to our screens, featuring a new batch of celebs donning their aprons in the famous Channel 4 tent.
This season's star-studded line-up boasts names such as Kate Garraway, Gloria Hunniford, Amelia Dimoldenberg and Scarlette Douglas, all vying to win over judges Paul Hollywood and Caroline Waldegrave - who is filling in for Bake Off judge Prue Leith.
Among those showcasing their baking prowess is singer and actress Self Esteem, set to appear in Sunday's (6th March) instalment of the beloved series.
Let's delve into the star's background....
Self Esteem, whose birth name is Rebecca Lucy Taylor, adopted her stage moniker in 2015, branching out into various creative endeavours like painting and filmmaking, reports Gloucestershire Live.
The 38-year-old artist once disclosed that she had the name Self Esteem in mind six years prior to actually embracing it.
During an interview on BBC Introducing, she remarked: "I wanted to call it Sex Appeal or Self Esteem...cos band names are bad, there's no good ones. But I probably should have just called it Rebecca Lucy Taylor!"
Influenced by RuPaul's Drag Race, Rebecca found the courage to embark on a solo journey after her stint in a band. She also acknowledges musician Jamie T for spurring her to publish her initial music works.
Securing a record contract in 2018, she dropped her first album a year later and has since graced stages at renowned festivals like Glastonbury and Latitude.
Her second album, Prioritise Pleasure, hit the shelves in 2021 after a series of successful singles. This was followed by sold-out tours and numerous festivals, with her third album, A Complicated Woman, set to be released on 25th April.
In 2023, Rebecca was honoured with an honorary Doctor of Music degree from the University of Sheffield, and a photographic portrait of her was displayed in the National Portrait Gallery in London.
Outside of her music career, Rebecca is a fan of Sheffield Wednesday FC, a connection that runs in the family as her great-grandfather once played for the club.
She has been candid about her journey with therapy to enhance her mental health and has identified herself as bisexual in interviews. Her current relationship status remains unknown.
Celebrity Bake Off airs on Sundays on Channel 4 at 8pm
