The American League defeated the National League in a high-scoring matchup in the 2025 MLB Celebrity Softball Game on Saturday night, winning by the final score of 17-15.
New York Yankees legend CC Sabathia took home MVP honors for the game, as the Hall of Fame pitcher showcased his skills on the mound and at the plate.
The game featured early offense, as influencer Nicky Cass and two-time Grammy nominated rapper Wisin hit home runs to put the NL squad up 4-0 before a single out was recorded in the bottom of the first inning.
The lead didn't last long, as the AL team tied the game with a grand slam from NFL legend Terrell Owens.
Two-time softball Olympian Jennie Finch also made her presence felt for the NL squad, getting a hit off Sabathia while making her 15th consecutive appearance in the Celebrity Softball Game.
The five-inning contest contained 38 total hits, with 21 coming from the American League and 17 from the National League. In the end, the AL team's 17 runs were too much for the NL celebrities to overcome.
2025 MLB All-Star festivities will continue with the Home Run Derby on Monday at 8 p.m. ET and the All-Star Game on Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET.
