Five Celebrity Homes With Next-Level Features You Won’t Believe

Money is no object to a celebrity, so some stars have built over-the-top features on their properties, making their homes their own personal slice of heaven. From resort-level amenities to quirky personal choices, here are next-level features found in some of the homes of our favorite stars.

Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey has six homes around the United States, each boasting unbelievable features. However, one of the media mogul's amenities has garnered particular attention: her private hiking trails on her Telluride, CO land. The 60-acre property overlaps with previously public hiking trails, which has caused notable conflict between the billionaire and local authorities. Still, Winfrey enjoys regular hikes, as seen through her Instagram posts.

Over in California, at the OWN CEO's Montecito home, sits a private tea house in its very own structure, separate from the rest of the house. The peaceful oasis is larger than many modern-day apartments and serves as the former talk show host's escape when she needs a bit of serenity. The tea house is a business-free zone.

"No meetings, ever," said the award-winning author regarding the rules of the domicile.

Naomi Campbell

When she needs a break from strutting across catwalks and posing for photographers, international supermodel Naomi Campbell jets off to her private villa in the seaside town of Malindi in Kenya. The sprawling and airy abode boasts four swimming pools, which the beauty icon has explained are set to different temperatures, giving herself and her guests options when it comes time to take a dip.

Jada Pinkett Smith

In the celebrity-studded city of Calabasas, Calif., sits Jada Pinkett Smith's $42 million home that she shares with her husband, Will Smith. Sprawling across 150 acres, the property features a manmade lake that is safe for swimming.

The celebrity couple – who opened up their home for a visit from Architectural Digest – also has a private recording studio on their property and a movie theater.

The southern California home is just one in the pair's sizeable real estate portfolio, says House Digest.

Kerry Washington

It's hard to believe that a star as big as Kerry Washington would ever be a renter. However, during her time on Broadway's American Son in 2019, the Scandal star rented an apartment overlooking the Hudson River.

Being a temporary resident did not stop Washington from sprucing up the place. She worked extensively to make the six-bedroom penthouse her own. One of the most distinct features (or should we say, two of them) are the identical sitting spaces that sit back-to-back, giving the Django Unchained actress one place to sit when she wants to watch TV and another when she wants to take in the view of the NYC skyline.

Taraji P. Henson

Taraji P. Henson couldn't go to a real salon during the COVID-19 pandemic, so she decided to build a private salon in her home, the Empire star told Insider. She even equipped the space with a cash register to make it feel like a real business. The shelves are stocked with the Hidden Figures actress' own line of beauty products, TPH by Taraji Henson. Henson has always loved spending time at the salon, and this was one experience she wasn't willing to give up during the lockdown.

Tina Turner

The undisputed queen of rock and roll denounced her U.S. citizenship in 2013 after living in Switzerland for two decades. The "Proud Mary" singer and her husband, producer Erwin Bach, purchased a $76 million "weekend" home overlooking Lake Zurich. In addition to boasting ten buildings and a private stream, the property also has a private jetty for boats to dock.

Matthew Lawrence Alleges Turning Down Major Hollywood Director's Sexual Advances Lost Him A ‘Marvel’ Role And More

Actor Matthew Lawrence, best known for Mrs. Doubtfire and his years as part of the Boy Meets World cast ensemble, has opened up about some highly unfortunate experiences he faced in Hollywood throughout his career. The actor, now 43 years old, alleged that he turned down sexual advances from a prominent Hollywood director, claiming it resulted in him losing not just the chance at what sounded like a significant role in a then-upcoming Marvel film, but that it also caused other professional setbacks.

In the latest episode of the Brotherly Love podcast, the Melissa and Joey actor revealed while talking with his brothers and co-hosts that a major Oscar-winning director propositioned him for a chance to land a coveted superhero movie role. While he did not reveal the director's name, nor what project the experience was supposedly tied to, Lawrence alleged that the filmmaker gave a hotel room invite that definitely wasn't meant to remain professional the whole time. According to Lawrence:

Again, the actor didn't reveal any names, specific dates on when this alleged encounter happened, or any other identifying details. But he claims turning down the director caused him to get dropped by his agent, with the idea being that the role would have been quite lucractive for them both.

In the same breath, he highlighted the double standard that he thinks exists when it comes to male actors talking about sexual harassment versus how things go when female actors share such claims. He continued:

Lawrence then brought up Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Terry Crews, who was ridiculed by 50 Cent and others when he came forward with his story of being sexually assaulted. For those who might not know, Terry Crews appeared on Capitol Hill in 2018 to testify in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee regarding his experience with sexual assault. In a very emotional testimony, the White Chicks actor alleged that Hollywood agent Adam Venit sexually assaulted him by grabbing his genitals. Crews has been a tremendous supporter of the #MeToo movement and very outspoken about toxic masculinity, and turned down a role in Expendables 4 due to alleged threats he received from a producer over going public with his story.

The Brotherly Love actor had this to say about how Crews has been treated since coming forward:

The Boy Meets World vet still believes that though actors like Crews and Brendan Fraser have come forward with allegations, many male actors remain unconvinced to speak their own truths without knowing straightaway that they'll be taken seriously. He said:

Matthew Lawrence's troubling story sheds light on the rampant abuse of power that has long been a skeleton in Hollywood's closet, due to the sometimes inhumane pressures that actors of any gender have faced to conform to the demands of those in positions of authority. You can watch the entire Brotherly Love podcast and listen to the actor talk about his experience in the video below.

Prince Harry Will Try to Be as ‘Invisible’ as He Can at King Charles’ Coronation for 1 Reason, According to Celebrity Psychic

After weeks of speculation, Prince Harry submitted an RSVP that he will be attending his father King Charles III's coronation on May 6. A statement from Buckingham Palace confirmed that the Duke of Sussex will make the trip without his wife and children.

Now, a psychic is predicting that Harry is going to try to be "as invisible as he can" during the ceremony. Here's more on what the prince's tarot cards say about that and where he will be seated inside Westminster Abbey.

The duke's trip to the U.K. will be a brief one. In fact, it's believed that he will be in town for less than 24 hours and only attend the ceremony, not any of the other coronation festivities.

That information was passed on from Finding Freedom co-author Omid Scobie who tweeted: "I understand that Archie's fourth birthday (also on May 6) played a factor in the couple's decision. Expect it to be a fairly quick trip to the U.K. for Prince Harry, who will only be attending the coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey."

Celebrity psychic and astrologer Inbaal Honigman spoke to Slingo about the Duke of Sussex's decision to attend the royal event without Meghan.

"Meghan gets the 3 of Swords, the sorrow card," Honigman shared. "This tarot card speaks of indecision. She couldn't decide whether to attend or not, but the questions go deeper, and she doesn't know whether King Charles will have a part to play in her children's lives at all."

As for Harry, Honigman revealed: "Prince Harry receives the Death card, which thankfully doesn't mean that any harm comes to the prince but it is rather a card of change."

The tarot reader predicted that the duke won't want to stand out at the coronation ceremony and would rather just make a brief appearance and leave undetected because of how he feels being around his relatives these days. She said: "Harry feels awkward and different [from] the others at the event of his father's coronation. The card shows that he doesn't enjoy himself and tries to be as invisible as he can, perhaps making his excuses and leaving early."

Flying under the radar at the coronation may actually be easy for Prince Harry as he has no role in ceremony and won't be seated in the front row with the senior royals.

Because he is no longer a working royal, Harry will be seated behind the senior members of the Firm. We saw an example of this when he attended a service of Thanksgiving for the late Queen Elizabeth II during her Platinum Jubilee festivities in June 2022. The Sussexes were seated in the second pew on the opposite side of the church from Harry's father and brother.

Express reported: "Harry's arrival at Westminster Abbey will be meticulously crafted down to the exact minute to avoid any form of confrontation with members of the royal family who will never forgive him for what he has done. The Prince of Wales is at the front of the list, with his fury at his younger brother being one of the worst-kept royal secrets. Harry will be seated several rows behind the senior royals and at a position to ensure that there can be no direct shot of William and Harry together — meaning any potential sideways glances or furious stares are not broadcast on the world stage."

The Hollywood Writers’ Strike Isn’t About Money, It’s About Survival

An old Klingon proverb tells us, "Only a fool fights in a burning house." In light of that bit of wisdom from "Star Trek," it might seem surprising that the Writers Guild of America West and East, the sister unions that represent the country's film and television writers, are engaged in a fraught labor negotiation with the studios and streaming companies that could lead, after their contract expires on May 1, to Hollywood's biggest strike in 15 years.

Looking at the current state of the entertainment industry, we see a theatrical business still struggling to recover from Covid-era disruptions and a television landscape of consolidation and cutbacks in the wake of an unsustainable boom in streaming content.

Surely this must be the absolute worst possible time for writers to strike and shut down scripted programming, right?

Well, yes. Unfo rtunately, the current negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (an organization that represents the old Hollywood studios and upstart streaming companies alike) are absolutely make or break for writers. At stake is nothing less than the survival of film and television writing as a viable middle-class career for the majority of our membership.

To be fair, screenwriting has always been a precarious, feast-or-famine way to make a living. With untold thousands drawn by the real and perceived glamour and wealth of Hollywood, the odds of selling a script or getting hired onto a show are long — like, high school football star making it in the N.F.L. long. Continuing to succeed consistently over the course of a career can often seem next to impossible.

I only made it into the W.G.A. after eight years of rejection, working as a journalist by day and tapping out screenplays every evening un til eventually getting hired onto a since-forgotten syndicated action hour, "Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda." It was the absolute lowest rung of scripted entertainment, but at the time it felt like heaven, and even paid enough for my little family to buy a home in an unglamorous corner of the San Fernando Valley.

But after three seasons of steady television work and a screenplay credit on the hit movie "Agent Cody Banks," my luck finally ran out. It took nearly three more years of meetings, pitches that went nowhere and buying groceries on credit cards before I got regular work again.

Luckily, the W.G.A.'s health insurance plan is structured so writers bank points that let us keep coverage between jobs, or else my family's financial solvency would have been in serious doubt. The W.G.A.'s members make on average around $250,000 a year — and that's before taxes, union dues and commissions to agents, managers and lawyers. The reality is that the seemingly big paychecks of Hollywood have to last through the lean periods that nearly every writer experiences.

Traditionally, one of the biggest buffers against that volatility is residuals: the money that writers earn from the reuse of our work, encompassing everything from cable and syndicated reruns of old television episodes to airlines licensing movies for in-flight viewing. The formulas used to calculate the money owed for various forms of reuse are complicated and vary widely across platforms. As a result, the payments can be relatively tiny or very large — and one of the more delightful parts of being a working screenwriter is opening your mailbox and seeing the distinctive green envelope that residuals come in, not knowing if the check inside will cover an In-N-Out burger or your mortgage payment.

But the odds of a big check that bails out a writer in dire f inancial straights are growing ever longer. Programming is moving increasingly away from theatrical, broadcast and cable to streaming platforms, which typically pay residuals at a far lower rate. This is why one of the major areas in our current negotiation is bringing streaming residuals more in line with broadcast and cable rates.

The issues being hashed out at the bargaining table include increasing the minimum compensation for writers and strengthening so-called span protection, which ensures that writers are paid fairly if the time spent creating a TV episode extends beyond two and a half weeks, as the industry shifts from the 22-episodes-a-year world of network television to the eight-episodes-every-18-months-if-you're-lucky model embraced by streaming companies. The W.G.A. is also pushing to address the proliferation in streaming television of so-called mini rooms — writing staffs that are smaller in size and active for a shorter duration than a traditional writers' room.

The studios and streamers are, of course, loath to part with any more money than they need to. They point to their battered stock prices, reduced box office revenue and round after round of layoffs as evidence that things are tough all over.

But allowing screenwriters to sustain a stable career is absolutely the smartest investment that the industry can make. After all, writers' imaginations are the ultimate source of the movies and shows that generate billions of dollars for their parent companies. One of my biggest thrills is walking onto a soundstage where grips are banging together a set and realizing that hundreds of people and millions of dollars have been marshaled to bring to life a scenario that once existed only in my brain.

Keeping that spigot of creativity open is only possible if writers don't have to scramble for day jobs or con template a career switch every time the phone stops ringing. Marc Cherry created the hit show "Desperate Housewives" while living on his "Golden Girls" residuals. And I wouldn't be able to spin my stories of rival wolf dynasties, cursed mountain climbers and quests for immortality were it not for the financial buffer provided by my good friends Thor and the X-Men.

The last thing we need is for film and television to become like the music industry, another creative field disrupted by the internet and tech money, where the middle class has been hollowed out while risk has been pushed from the companies onto the artists themselves. The W.G.A.'s fight isn't just about keeping writers employed but about maintaining the health of the entire ecosystem that makes our industry run and keeps the supply of quality film and television flowing for viewers around the world.

I do worry that some of my fellow writers — especially younger ones who joined during the streaming-driven boom years, when the number of writers in the W.G.A. reporting earnings grew from 4,500 to more than 6,000 — have unrealistic ideas about what a successful negotiation can accomplish. No contract can bring back the 1990s model of shows that ran 22-episode seasons for eight years, or fully reinflate the 2010s streaming bubble. Whether we win concessions from the studios at the bargaining table or even through a strike, the brutal reality remains that, going forward, there will likely be fewer well-paying jobs in a volatile industry that may force us to hustle for work more than ever.

So can the W.G.A., the studios and the streamers come to terms without a strike? Or are our positions irreconcilable?

Conventional wisdom in Hollywood right now is that a strike — possibly a long one — is inevitable. But I'm still hopeful that the two sides can re ach a compromise that keeps the industry working, because regardless of whether they realize it, doing right by the writers is an investment that will benefit the companies that employ us, as well. Like my hero Captain James T. Kirk, I don't believe in a no-win scenario.

Zack Stentz is a screenwriter and the co-writer of "Thor" and "X-Men: First Class," and has written for the TV shows "The Flash" and "Fringe."

After a nail-biting finale and a drama packed season, the winner of I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia 2023 has officially been crowned.

And the winner is… Liz Ellis!

As the official queen/king of the jungle for season nine, Liz has won $100,000 for their charity of choice, Share the Dignity.

"When I was thinking about my charity that I wanted to support, I walked into my local library with my kids, and in the toilet, there was what's called a dignity vending machine and I was intrigued," she revealed.

"I found out about it and the charity is called Share the Dignity and it works to provide period products to women who are fleeing domestic violence, who are homeless, who are living in poverty, who are living on the breadline. It just hit me that there will be so many women who would have to make the choice whether to buy period products or whether to buy food to put on the table.

"I've got a little girl and I'd hate for her to be in that position."

It was an intense finale for viewers as they watched the final three contestants: Netball legend Liz Ellis, boxer Harry Garisde and reality star Aesha Scott battle it out for the crown.

Now, Liz joins the long list of champions on I'm A Celebrity including Abbey Chatfield, Casey Donovan and Miguel Maestre.

And while we are thrilled to finally know the winner, this finale marks the final episode featuring Dr Chris Brown as host after eight years.

"It's definitely been [difficult], and that's been because I love the show so much," he told news.com.au.

"But it's allowed me to treasure every single day I've had over here. It's also given the entire crew the chance to crack jokes about it."

Now the veterinarian is moving back to where his career begun; Channel Seven.

Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner Dating Rumors Can’t Be Real

The Kardashians gave pop culture one of the most perplexing (and oddly endearing) celebrity couples in recent memory when now-exes Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson went public with their romance last year. Now some new dating rumors, involving a Jenner and an Oscar-nominated actor, have social media in total distress.

Last week, celebrity gossip account Deuxmoi posted an anonymous tip that Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet were dating. The page also posted direct messages from online users "confirming" that the tw o are, indeed, a couple. One person claimed that they've known about their alleged romance "since January."

Given the dubious nature of the source, social media was initially doubtful of the alleged news, posting a bunch of jokes about the supposedly mismatched pair. However, suspicions about the two ramped up yesterday when TMZ captured a photo of Jenner's Range Rover parked in the Call Me By Your Name's star's driveway. "Her car pulled in from the road and drove straight up the winding driveway," the article reads. "In other words, she knew exactly where she was going."

To say that the internet is not handling this piece of gossip well is an understatement. Fans of Chalamet seem particularly devastated that the stylish heartthrob would be romantically involved with a member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan.

Based on several tweets, it seems like Chalamet and Jenner's disparate positions in Hollywood make their alleged romance unfathomable and even wrong to a number of people. Admittedly, it's rare that an A-list actor, associated with Oscar-winning, high-brow films, steps out with someone largely referred to as an influencer. However, Chalamet and Jenner are both deeply entrenched in the fashion world, as seen in a resurfaced clip of the two conversing at Paris Fashion Week in January.

The news also comes as a bit of surprise given the recency of Jenner's breakup from rapper Travis Scott, with whom she had a son named Aire last year. In January, People reported that Jenner was not currently with the musician. Although, sources claimed that it was "probably not the end" for the illustrious couple, given the nature of their "on-and-off" relationship.

There's also some suspicion online that Jenner's alleged involvement with Chalamet is some sort of ploy for attention, given the family's fading relevance in pop culture. (As if all celebrities don't desire attention!) To some, these rumors read like an effort to get more people to watch their utterly lifeless Hulu show The Kardashians when Season 3 premieres next month.

To be fair, similar comments were made about Kardashian and Davidson when news of their surprising relationship began to emerge. In fact, everything that occurs in the Kardashians' chaotic lives, from their relationship drama to Kim's robbery, is ultimately deemed as attention-seeking. But isn't it essentially their job as celebrities to stay relevant?

Whether Jenner and Chalamet are just pals or actual lovers, we'll have to wait and see. Although, it wouldn't be a surprise if we got a glimpse of the two at this weekend's Coachella, where they're both known to frequent. If so, Twitter will presumably burst into flames.

Clarified: Will there be another Hollywood writers strike?

Film and television writers are preparing to step away from their keyboards and go on strike if Hollywood studios refuse to meet demands for a new contract by May 1, 2023.

The Writers Guild of America is the union that represents almost 10,000 film and television writers. On April 17, the union announced that its members had authorized a strike, with 98% voting in favor, the highest percentage of support yet. The strike also had a record-breaking turnout, with more than 9,000 members participating. The strike is currently due to start on May 1 unless the WGA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, the bargaining body for the studios, come to an agreement.

Why is it happening?

The writers are demanding better working conditions and fair compensation from the big Hollywood studios. The WGA claims that the studios have taken advantage of the switch to streaming by prioritizing revenue from those platforms over paying the writers fairly.

In the past decade, the median weekly pay for a writer-producer has dropped 23% when accounting for inflation, according to the WGA. Now, half of all writers are being paid the minimum amount allowed by the union contracts for their work. Screenwriters also haven't seen a bump in their salaries since 2018. The switch to streaming also created issues for the traditional payment models. Before streaming, most TV shows would have around 22 episodes per season, and writers would be paid per episode. Now though, shows have far fewer episodes, with an average of around 10 per season. However, writers are still paid per episode, and when TV show episodes are a lengthy and expensive spectacle, like those of Game of Thrones or The Last of Us, making that salary stretch becomes difficult.

Residuals are another source of disdain for WGA members. They act as a form of royalty payment for writers' work that continues to be in use. In the broadcast world, residuals were based on the success of the show, meaning the more viewers, the more money they would be paid. In the streaming age, though, writers' residuals are not based on success, meaning the minds behind the biggest performing shows will not be compensated more than those with commercial flops, despite the hits generating big profits for studios.

For their next contract, writers are demanding better compensation and residuals, increased payments into the health and pension plans and improved professional standards, including more diversity and inclusion efforts and regulation of artificial intelligence.

What happens if they strike?

If an agreement isn't reached by May 1, the strike will begin. This will have massive industry-wide consequences and may affect viewers.

The last time a writers strike happened was in 2007-08 and lasted 100 days, costing the Los Angeles economy $2 billion. A fourth of all primetime programming was lost in the strike. Many hit shows were affected, including Gossip Girl, Lost, Friday Night Lights and Breaking Bad. Most affected shows had their seasons cut short dramatically, often resulting in clumsy storylines, bad dialogue and unbelievable circumstances.

The strike also affected film, although not as severely given the longer timelines in film production. One of the most affected films was the James Bond film Quantum of Solace. The screenplay was finished just before the strike deadline, but with no writers available for rewrites on set, the leading man Daniel Craig was enlisted to help with writing alongside the director. The Bond film is considered the worst of Craig's tenure as 007.

If the strike goes ahead, viewers can expect an immediate stop to late night comedy shows like SNL, The Tonight Show and Last Week Tonight, given their weekly scripting schedule. Many shows set to premiere in the fall will also likely be pushed back.

Studios are preparing for the strike by pushing production and writing deadlines up, stockpiling episodes of shows and investing in unscripted reality television. This indicates they are ready for the strike, however long it may last.

Under the Hollywood Spotlight, a Fading Welsh Town Is Reborn

In the Welsh language, the virtually untranslatable word "hiraeth" (pronounced here-ayeth) describes a blend of nostalgia and longing for a time that can never be recreated.

For Wrexham, a working-class town in northern Wales, it was a feeling that came to define a postindustrial malaise that descended in the 1980s as the last remaining coal mines shuttered their rickety gates and, later, the furnaces at the nearby steelworks ran cold.

Only the beloved soccer club, Wrexham A.F.C., remained: the oldest team in Wales, a perennial also-ran but still an indomitable source of local pride.

"We went through so much as a town," said Terry Richards, 56, a lifelong fan of the club as he sat at home in the team's bright scarlet jersey. "Those were difficult times."

Wales has its legends of heroes returning to sav e the day, but few could have predicted that an unlikely pair of Hollywood actors, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, would waltz into town just over two years ago and buy the ailing club. That set off a chain of events that catapulted the town out of the doldrums and into the international spotlight, casting the residents as the main characters in their own Hollywood reality show based around the soccer club, "Welcome to Wrexham."

Few could have predicted that the two famous actors would walk into the town in the first place. But Mr. McElhenney, an American who had binged on sports documentaries during lockdown, conducted an exhaustive search for a down-and-out soccer team with growth potential, landing on Wrexham A.F.C., and persuaded Mr. Reynolds to join him in his pet project.

After paying the bargain sum of around $2.5 million, they moved into town (the Canadian-born Mr. Reynolds even bought a house) and began overhauling the team's operation. They revitalized the training facilities and upgraded the roster, offering comparatively enormous salaries that attracted established players from the upper levels of English soccer.

Last Saturday, that Hollywood story finally got its very own Hollywood ending — the team's promotion after its winning season into the English Football League, the next tier of England's multilevel soccer pyramid, after a 15-year absence. As the referee blew the final whistle, generations of teary-eyed supporters leaped fro m the stands onto the rain flecked field in joyous celebration.

In that moment, a town was reborn, and that lingering "hiraeth" was no more.

"The doom and gloom has lifted," said Mr. Richards, still nursing a headache after days of celebration. "It's hard to put into words."

"It's a new Wrexham," he said.

The glamour of the town's new honorary residents appears at stark odds with Mr. Richards's neighborhood of Caia Park, a long deprived corner of Wrexham that came to epitomize the town's decline. But few in the area find that contrast jarring. They are more than happy to bask in the Hollywood spotlight, especially when it comes with the fittingly Hollywood finale that shook the town last Saturday.

"They've brought a bit of sparkle with them," said Mr. Richards's partner, Donna Jacks on, 55.

Mr. Richards's son, Nathan, 34, who played professionally for Wrexham in his teens, agreed. "You don't need to be a football fan to see that."

It is a sparkle that has lit up the underserved neighborhood, including at a local boxing gym that tries to keep disadvantaged teens out of trouble.

"This is known as a bit of a fighting town," said Gareth Harper, 43, the gym's coach. "But after that match, with all of them fans and each pub being crammed, there was not one arrest. Everybody is just on such a high."

As his students shadow boxed alongside him, he added: "I think we're almost getting a little bit used to it now."

Not everyone has made the adjustment. But Wayne Jones, the sleep-deprived, 40-year-old owner of the Turf Hotel, the pub made famous by the FX documentary, is not complai ning.

Knowing what was coming, he tried frantically to stock up on supplies before the big game last Saturday, but the crowds just kept on coming. And on Sunday, they came back again. By night's end, the pub had been drunk dry, and he was left with no choice but to shut down for the first time in 15 years.

"I didn't ask for any of this. It sort of fell into my lap," he said, while staring into his coffee cup with weary eyes. "But I don't think I have a big enough vocabulary to describe what they've done for this town," he said of the new celebrity owners. "If the football team is doing well, the town is only going to prosper."

While American entrepreneurs paying billions for clubs like Manchester United has bothered some British soccer fans, Wrexham s acceptance of outside ownership has surprised even the new owners themselves.

That is not to say there weren't some suspicions at first.

"Is this the 7th Cavalry coming over the hill? Or is it just, you know, somebody looking to make a quick buck," Geraint Parry, the club's longest-serving staff member, recalled thinking when the town first caught wind of the actors' proposed purchase.

But Mr. Parry, who has been attending games at the Racecourse Ground, the club's stadium, since 1974, soon put those doubts to rest — even if he still struggles to comprehend the North American accents increasingly heard around town after the tourists began to roll in.

"I've got enough maple syrup to last me a lifetime now," he joked, referring to gifts some of the tourists brought from their home countries. He added: "You can tell wherever in the world they are showing the series next, because suddenly you start getting emails from Brazil, Poland and Thailand."

At times, the meeting of cultures seems straight out of an outdated sitcom script. At the club's fan shop this week, a tourist from Pennsylvania was met with puzzled looks when she asked to use the restroom. "You want the err … toilet?" the shop assistant asked.

The town's museum is in the process of building a soccer section to cater to the growing public interest in the team. Amid the building's archives, however, the despondent days of the past are never far removed.

"Everything looks so grim," said Mark Taylor, the museum's assistant archivist, as he stared at the old newspaper snippets splayed out in front of him.

"END OF THE ROAD," read one headline documenting the closure of the town's brewery.

"I'LL SHUT THIS CLUB DOWN," another front page blasted, a window into darker days at Wrexham A.F.C. less than 20 years ago.

It all appeared alien to the glory now emanating across global airwaves and the team's dressing room (which, after the club's promotion on Saturday, took five hours to clean).

Back in Caia Park, Ms. Jackson reminded her partner Mr. Richards that they had yet to marry. As a setting sun streamed through the blinds, he promised they would get around to it next year, but on one strict condition — the ceremony must take place on Wrexham's soccer pitch.

  • There have been several surprising celebrity couples since 2020.

  • The most recent shocking duo is Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner, who have been reported to be seeing each other.

  • Insider rounded up 12 of the most surprising celebrity pairings of the 2020s so far.

  • The internet has imploded every time Pete Davidson has dated a new woman.

Pete Davidson's love life has been a hot topic of conversation, dating back to his relationship with — and brief engagement to — Ariana Grande in 2018.

However, in the 2020s, the former "SNL" star has whipped the internet into a frenzy after being linked to "Bridgerton" star Phoebe Dynevor, reality star Kim Kardashian, and model Emily Ratajkowski.

His love life has even become a social media meme.

Last month, Davidson addr essed the intense public interest in his love life on the "Real Ones with Jon Bernthal" podcast.

"I think what happened was I became more known before the work was there," Davidson said. "I'm in my 20s and I've dated people, and for some reason, that is very crazy and interesting to people."

"I don't think that's that interesting. I've been in showbusiness for half my life. Almost for 14, 15 years on a national TV show, and in 12 years I've dated, like, 10 people. I don't really think that's that crazy but to some people, it seems very interesting," he added.

The comedian also complained that the viral reaction has overshadowed his work which "is a really shitty feeling."

Emily Ratajkowski's relationships in 2023 have also stirred the internet.

Emily Ratajkowski has also stirred the internet with her recent relationships.

Earlier this year, the model and podcast host and comedian Eric Andre sparked romance rumors after they were spotted getting lunch together in January, and later vacationing in the Cayman Islands.

A few weeks later, Andre posted a nude photograph of the pair on Instagram for Valentine's Day.

    Story continues

In March, Ratajkowski was spotted making out with Harry Styles on the streets of Tokyo, Japan.

Both the video clip of the kiss and the Instagram photograph became hot topics online.

Bill Hader and Anna Kendrick's relationship was a surprise to many.

In January 2022, People and several other media outlets reported that Bill Hader and Anna Kendrick had been quietly dating for over a year.

The pair had some shared history, having starred together in the Disney+ holiday movie "Noelle" in 2019.

Neither actor confirmed they were dating and by June of the same year, Entertainment Tonight reported that the pair had split.

Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly's relationship was not on anyone's 2020 bingo card.

Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly met while filming "Midnight in the Switchgrass" together in March 2020, and by May, the singer had released a music video with the actor stepping on his face with her bare feet.

MGK and Fox eventually went public with their relationship on July 28, 2020, by sharing a picture on Instagram. They later got engaged in January 2022.

While the pair initially seeme d like one of the most random couples of the 2020s, after reading multiple interviews about their relationship, they seem more alike than one would think.

To the average fan, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker's relationship seemingly came out of nowhere, but they have actually known each other for years.

Barker and Kourtney met in 2006 through the reality star's sister, Kim Kardashian. The Blink-182 drummer was dating Kim's then-boss Paris Hilton at the time.

In February 2021, the pair made their social media debut and have been together since, occasionally going on double dates with MGK and Fox.

In October of the same year, the celebrity couple got engaged and Barker and Kardashian did not waste much time before getting unofficially married in Las Vegas in April 2022. They legally married in Santa Barbara, California, in May 2022.

Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers got engaged completely under the radar.

Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers were experts at keeping their relationship private.

In February 2021, a couple of days after media outlets started to report that the pair might be dating, the Green Bay Packers quarterback announced he was actually engaged.

Rodgers spoke about his engagem ent while accepting the 2020 NFL MVP award, saying: "It's an honor to win this award for the third time. 2020 was definitely a crazy year filled with lots of change and growth, some amazing memorable moments. 180 straight days of having my nose hair scraped, playing for very little fans or no stands the entire season. I got engaged."

Later that month, Woodley said on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" that they had been "engaged for a while."

In July 2021, the "Divergent" star told The Hollywood Reporter that they kept the engagement a secret for months so they could "live in our little bubble."

Unfortunately, the couple split in April 2022.

Fans were surprised when John Mulaney began dating Olivia Munn.

The surprise at John Mulaney's new relationship with Olivia Munn was mostly due to the brevity between the announcement and his split from his ex-wife.

In May 2021, Mulaney and Anna Marie Tendler split after six years of marriage.

However, the same month, there were rumors that Mulaney had started dating Munn. Then, in September, the comedian revealed he was expecting a baby with Munn.

Appearing on "Late Night with Seth Meyers," Mulaney said that Munn and the baby helped "save me from myself" during his recovery from addiction after leaving rehab.

"I went to rehab in September, I got out in October, I moved out of my home from my ex-wife … Then in the spring I went to Los Angeles and met and started to date a wonderful woman named Olivia," the "Big Mouth" star said. "I got into this relationship that's been really beautiful with someone incredible. And we're having a baby together. I was nervous when I was about to say the n ews!"

People reported that the couple welcomed their first child, Malcolm Hiep, on November 24, 2021.

Fans were excited to see the 2000s it-couple Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck rekindle their relationship.

After almost 20 years of separation, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck found their way back to each other in 2021.

The pair first dated in 2002 after filmi ng "Gigli" together. However, after getting engaged, the pair broke up in early 2004 before they could walk down the aisle.

In 2021, they rekindled their relationship, recreating moments from their 2000s relationship.

Lopez and Affleck finally got married a year later, having a private ceremony in Las Veg as before a second, larger wedding.

After so many years apart, news of their reunion was a surprise, but fans were still happy to see Bennifer back together.

Movie director Taika Waititi and pop star Rita Ora did not seem to have much in common when they were linked together.

Rita Ora said in a now-deleted Valentine's Day Instagram post in 2022 that she and Taika Waititi had known each other for "four years." However, to most fans, their relationship came out of the blue.

The dating rumors first arose after Ora posted on Instagram a photo of him cuddling her in 2021.

Then, their relati onship generated even bigger buzz in May 2021 after the Daily Mail published photographs of Waititi and Ora sharing a threeway kiss with Marvel star Tessa Thompson in Sydney, Australia.

Some fans even questioned whether the three celebrities were in a throuple.

The "Jojo Rabbit" director later told Sydney Morning Herald that the pictures were blown out of proportion and he was "doing nothing wrong."

The "RIP" singer also said to GQ Hype this year that the rumor that the three stars were in a "throuple" was "ridiculous."

"I think when some things are so absurd, and it's hard to fathom any sense of it, you just have t o ignore it," Ora said. "I've taken that approach for a lot of things, because you don't want to put energy towards something that's nonexistent. It's like trying to explain something that didn't happen means you're feeding into nothing.

Ora went on to say that the photograph just showed a bunch of friends "having a good time" rather than a secret relationship.

In January 2023, Ora confirmed during an interview on Heart Radio that she and Waititi had tied the knot.

After fans joked for years that Leonardo DiCaprio does not date women over 25, he reportedly dated 27-year-old model Gigi Hadid.

In recent years, Le onardo DiCaprio's love life has been the subject of jokes due to the age gap between him and the women he dates.

Some people have even suggested he breaks up with his girlfriends once they turn 25.

So, fans were surprised when multiple media outlets, including People, reported in 2022 that DiCaprio was dating Gigi Hadid, who was 27 at the time.

However, whatever relationship the pair had reportedly fizzled out by February 2023.

Neither the actor nor the model confirmed that they were dating.

Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny and model Kendall Jenner are at the top of their industries but no one saw this coming.

Rumors about Bad Bunny and Kendall Jenner seeing each other began to swirl after the pair were photographed together by TMZ in February 2023.

While neither has confirmed their relationship publicly, Jenner was spotted in the crowd at Bunny's Coachella set in April, and they were also seen horseback riding together the same month.

Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner are also rumored to be dating.

Kendall's sister Kylie Jenner also appears to have a new surprising beau this year.

In April 2023, Entertainment Tonight reported that Kylie and "Dune" actor Timothée Chalamet were dating — but neither star has confirmed the speculation.

Needless to say, this one really blew up the internet.

Celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton and "White Lotus" actor Lukas Gage married in Las Vegas, the couple announced in separate Instagram posts on Wednesday.

"We did it," the 39-year-old hairstylist to the stars captioned in a series of photos from his big day.

"Ring finger where the rock is," the 27-year-old Gage also wrote on Instagram.

Appleton extended thanks to his friend and client, Kim Kardashian, along with musician Shania Twain. Photos and videos showed Kardashian officiating the couple's wedding, while Twain serenaded them with her hit song "You're Still the One," as they sipped champagne.

In March, Appleton appeared on "The Drew Barrymore Show," and when asked if there was someone special in his life, gushed about Gage.

"Actually yeah. Listen, I'm very happy," he told Barrymore. "Very much in love and I feel very grateful to be able to share my time with someone very special. Love is a really special thing and I think meeting someone you connect with is really, really special so."

  • Golden Beach police sergeant shot following pursuit of stolen vehicle in Hollywood, authorities say

Following last night's contraband controversy, the two camps were finally reunited. However it wasn't long before Ant and Dec threw out another curveball to the contestants - that Andy, Phil and Shaun would be facing the first survival trial.

The twist didn't end there either as each celebr ity was asked to pick someone from main camp to join them in the trial, with the losing pair being the first contestants to be sent home.

Phil picked Toff and Andy chose Jordan Banjo, who were both in good spirits and ready to help. However Shaun's decision to team up with Gillian McKeith didn't go down well with the TV personality, who bemoaned her ability to partake in a trial.

Titled 'Savage Safari', the trial saw each pair handcuffed together and tasked with retrieving spanners from boxes filled with snakes, rats and fish guts.

Toff and Phil got off to a strong start and raced ahead of their counterparts, with Jordan and Andy close behind.

Gillian however was unable to put her hand into the box to unscrew the spanner, screaming at the thought of reaching past snakes.

Jordan and Andy were first to finish, closely followed by Phil and Toff - leaving Gillian and Shaun to be the first campmates sent home.

"I'm a bit gutted to be going," Shaun reflected as the pair made their exits, while Gillian added that she'd loved her brief stint on the series.

"My time on I'm a celebrity has been fantastic. It's been the best time of my life," she added.< /p>
