Twitter Fight: Ashton Kutcher vs. Village Voice

Let the loud typing begin!

A Twitter war has broken out between Ashton Kutcher and weekly newspaper Village Voice.

The two went at it after the Voice published an article on Wednesday that questioned the child-prostitution statistics the actor offered in his "Real Men Don't Buy Girls" anti-sex-trafficking campaign.

And it all went downhill from there...

MORE: Do Ashton and Demi "Dumb Down" Campaign Against Child Sex Slavery With Humorous PSAs?

The 33-year-old started the tweet battle by revisiting a lawsuit publication is involved in.

"hey @villagevoice hows the lawsuit from the 15 year old victim who alleges you helped enslave them going?"

No response.

"speaking of data, maybe you can help me... How much $ did your 'escorts' in you classifieds on backpage make last year?"

No response.

"speaking of Data... How many of your girls selling themselves in your classifieds are you doing age verification on?" and "Find another way to justify that YOUR property facilitates the sale of HUMAN BEINGS."

Still nothing.

"I'm just getting started!!!!!!!! BTW I only PLAYED stupid on TV." Getting no response from the publication, he wrote, "Oh I forgot U work business hrs. Maybe that's Y you sell girls on ur platform. they tend 2work the night shift." In another tweet, he stressed, "REAL MEN DON'T BUY GIRLS and REAL NEWS PUBLICATIONS DON'T SELL THEM."

Wait a second, a response!

Today the newspaper decided to reply to Kutcher's tweets with, "Wow, @aplusk having a Twitter meltdown! Hey Ashton, which part this story is inaccurate?... we'll bite. Tell us the hard facts you have collected. We'll fact-check for you."

This time, Ashton was the one staying quiet.

So, they took another hit.

"Where's your fight now, @aplusk? Did you sleep in, or are you just tuckered out from last night's Twitter tirade?"

Ashton then tweeted, "My perspective on human trafficking Data written June 23..", with a link to an article he wrote and the Voice continued the war with, "Don't spout phony statistics which are then used to justify millions in spending for 'awareness.' Victims need beds and counseling."

Kutcher then started tweeting fact after fact concerning human trafficking, and last time we checked, the Voice matched each tweet with a rebuttal.

Is it getting hot in here or that just us?!

Movie Review: Selena Gomez Brings Sugary Disney Sweetness to Europe in Monte Carlo

Hot-buttered opinion on the latest flicks

Review in a Hurry: Tween idol Selena Gomez tackles not one, but two roles for her big-screen adventure, playing both a Texas waitress who travels to Paris and the snotty, rich, tabloid celebrity whom she gets mistaken for. Along the way, she ends up crushing on some dude with a crazy 'do, naturally.

A flick with a Disney star usually means broad humor, but thankfully the laughs come without pratfalls. Selena fans will be pleased that she's just as spunky as ever. Parents will not be bored...at least  too much.

MORE: Get our review of Transformers: Dark of the Moon!

The Bigger Picture: Grace (Gomez) dreams of getting out of her small Texas town. She's spent four years working at a diner saving for her dream trip to Paris with her BFF Emma (Katie Cassidy). Mom (Andie MacDowell) is anxious for her daughter to see the world but has one condition: Her older stepsister, Meg (Leighton Meester), will be the trip's chaperone. Meester (Blair from Gossip Girl) makes with her brand of know-it-all sass.

But when the trio enter a ritzy motel to get out of the rain, Grace gets the royal treatment. Turns out she's a ringer for British socialite Cordelia Winthrop Scott. So Grace impersonates! Don't feel bad for Cordelia though, as it comes as no surprise that she's a grade-A jerk. Although, as Cordelia we're not sure why Gomez sounds like a snotty version of Angelina Jolie...but...just go with it.

Gomez might be the stunner in a fancy evening gown, but it's CW alumnae Meester and Cassidy (Supernatural, Melrose Place) who shine. Meester can make any role more interesting than it deserves. Cassidy plays a gal from a small town who loves shiny, pretty things. Her enthusiasm feels genuine.

So maybe it's not Gomez to blame but the character of Grace. Grace feels some remorse for her identity thievery but only at the very end of the movie. After all, there are those lovely dresses to be worn, boys to swoon over and did we mention a $3 million necklace that gets "misplaced." Of course it does.

In the spirit of situational comedy, the "OMG! What do we do next?!" kind, the script clicks. What young gal wouldn't want the opportunity to be famous, have it all and party in a gorgeous place like Monte Carlo? Director Thomas Bezucha filmed on location in Paris and Monte Carlo, and both look superb.

The film's lessons on friendship and growing up are effective. Nothing's ever as dire as things were for those sisters of the traveling pants, but that's fine. Sometimes girls just want to have fun.

The 180â€"a Second Opinion: Glee's Cory Monteith plays Owen, boyfriend to Cassidy's Emma. In a subplot that sidetracks the fun, he travels to Paris to declare his true love for her. Monteith is solid, but cutting away from the three gals living it up in Europe is distracting.

Live at So You Think You Can Dance: Judges Butt Heads Over Eliminated Contestants

It's more fun than doing it alone

In the words of So You Think You Can Dance host, Cat Deeley, "Thursdays, they suck."

As the contestants faced another round of eliminations, all the warm fuzzies of Wednesday night's smoochfest  were replaced with intense anticipation as the bottom three couples danced for their lives.

So who's out of the spotlight, why was one of the eliminated contestant's exit not unanimous, and what did guest judge Kristin Chenoweth have to say about it all?

MORE: You'll Never Guess Who Was K-I-S-S-I-N-G on So You Think You Can Dance

It's so hard to say good-bye to such exceptional talent, but this is a competition and, inevitably, eliminations are only bound to get tougher as the weeks go by.

For Ashley Rich, Chris Koehl, Robert Taylor Jr., Miranda Maleski, Mitchell Kelly and Caitlynn Lawson, it was crunch time as they were given the news they would have to dance for their lives with only four making it through to next week.

Unfortunately, two contestants had to go, and after a long deliberation backstage, Miranda and Robert were cut from the competition, leaving them to say a very sad good-bye to their newfound family of dance BFFs.

In a surprising turn of events, Nigel began the female elimination by letting everyone know it was not a unanimous decision. In a postshow interview Nigel explained the decision and admitted he was rooting for Miranda to stay.

"It was tough," he said. "I'm afraid I love Miranda. I thought she was fabulous, but you know two people have got to go each week and I didn't want to draw it out, but sorry, it's a competition. I think Ashley's solo was the weakest one tonight, but we loved her jail routine, we loved her work. That's really what we voted on and remembered the routines she's done across the season so far and that'd how the decision was made."

For guest judge Kristin Chenoweth, she said it was tougher than she originally thought.

"It was the worst," she said. "Hardest job ever! I hate rejection, I don't like it in my own life, so I certainly don't want to impose it on a fellow artist. That's what they are, fellow artists and I will probably work for them one day. [The deliberation was] a little heated. I think we all wanted to take up for who we wanted, you know it was tough."

So will we ever see Kristin in the judges chair again?

"Sure," she said. "But I'm probably not the best choice. When I'm at home, I do think more technically, but when I'm watching them live I'm not very good at it because I'm so inspired by their work and the choreography and the costumes. That's why there's nothing better than live showbiz."

When we caught up with Miranda she said her elimination wasn't a surprise.

"It was a split vote and that's OK," she told us. "I mean, it landed me here, but I will continue on with my life and it's all gravy. I kind of had a feeling throughout the day. I don't know why. It was just a feeling, and when they told us to do our solos I kinda knew it, but I was excited to do my solo tonight because it was just another chance to show America what I can do and share myself with them. Everything I laid on stage was what I wanted to, so I'm proud of what I did tonight. Whatever is meant to be will happen. There is something bigger out there for me, and whatever it is, I'm excited to find it."

As for Robert, he has high hopes and aspirations for a bright future that is obviously in front of the camera!

"Moving forward, there is a lot that I see. I see film and commercials and television sitcoms. I see me hosting and MTV show or VH1 or BET show or a show on Oxygen or Animal Planet or Discovery Channel. It doesn't matter! I also see a music career in pop and R&B entertainment. You just never know what's going to happen."

Are you sad to see Miranda and Robert leave? Did you love or loath Kristin Chenoweth as a guest judge? Who are you rooting for? Let us know in the comments!

True Blood's Kristin Bauer Has McHale Seeing Red. Not Drinking It

When it comes to stunning women with tremendous teeth who will never die, you'd be hard pressed to find a better example than Kristin Bauer. You might be thinking Betty White, but she doesn't survive on the blood of humans. That we know of.

To be more accurate, it's Kristin's True Blood character Pam we're talking about, but there may be some overlap there when she appears on Friday's new episode of The Soup. As Joel McHale can tell you...

True Blood: Will Jason Stackhouse Survive New Season?

EXCLUSIVE: Read it here first...

EXCLUSIVE!

Uh, oh! Things aren't sounding too good for one of our favorite True Blood hotties.

Ryan Kwanten, who plays Sookie's brother Jason, says his character is in for a very rough ride this season.

Just how bad does it get for Bon Temps' new deputy sheriff? Really bad!

Keep reading to find out more. (Don't worry, no spoilers are revealed.)

READ: Bisexual Anna Paquin: "There's a Lot of Prejudice Toward Us"

"Jason is going to be very lucky to survive this season," Kwanten told me while promoting his upcoming movie, Griff the Invisible (it's out next month, so more on that later). "He goes through more hell in this season than any other characters combined."

One scene in Sunday's episode is especially gruesome. "Even when I read it the first time, there was a real sense of, God, what the hell are they doing to this guy?" Kwanten said.

As hellish as things become, Kwanten said we'll still see Jason engaging in some of the show's signature sex scenes. "Jason may get his time, but believe me, it's not going to be the way he wants it," he teased. "That's the big caveat I'll put on itâ€"he will get it, but not the way he wants it."

Yikes.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Shuts It Down on Amazing Fashion Tour

Going off on what people put on

Replacing Megan Fox in the blockbuster Transformers franchise was no easy feat, but newcomer Rosie Huntington-Whiteley caused a sensation when she stepped out looking stunning in nearly every promotional stop.

And there were a lot of stops.

From her sparkly silver turn in Naeem Khan in Berlin to the sexy plunging blue Burberry gown in London to the drop-dead stunning red Antonio Berardi dress in NYC, Rosie was dripping with movie-star glam as she crisscrossed the globe. (Her slouchy pink Michael Kors gown for Rio was also fab, and the only little hiccup was the sheer Gucci skirt in Moscow.)

And we haven't even started on her daytime looks yet...

MORE: Meet the Next Megan Fox: Transformers' New Angel

RHW went casual chic in the Row's silk tank and slacks outside Regis & Kelly. The 24-year-old rocked a belted cream halter top and slacks by Michael Kors outside the David Letterman studios.

Her two black outfits (Brazil photo call on the left, Tonight Show on the right) weren't the best, but Rosie made up for it with the va-va-voom red Stella McCartney dress at the Berlin photo call.

There were so many jaw-dropping fashion moments on this Transformers: Dark of the Moon tour, it's hard to choose a favorite.

For evening, we're going with the fabulous blue Burberry gown, and for day, the cream Michael Kors ensemble.

Sorry, Rob & Kristen! Not Everyone Is Excited to See Your Breaking Dawn Sex Scene

EXCLUSIVE: Read it here first...

EXCLUSIVE!

It's no secret that Twi-hards everywhere are anxiously awaiting the much talked-about Breaking Dawn sex scene.

However, there's at least one person out there who is not excited about Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart onscreen steaminess.

READ: Sexy Teen Wolf Starlet Called "Little Hussy"...by Her Own Mother!

"I have not seen [it]," Michael Welch told us of Robsten's Breaking Dawn bed scene at the Second Annual Thirst Project Gala in Beverly Hills. "And I'll be honest, I can't say I'm looking forward to it, because these are good friends of mine and I don't really want to see that."

For those of you who are excited to see Edward and Bella in the sack, Jackson Rathbone told us back in February just how steamy the scene will be.

"It's definitely sexy," he said. "It sizzles, man. It sizzles like bacon!"

Meanwhile, something Welch is looking forward to is Stewart in her upcoming fairy-tale flick Snow White and the Huntsman.

"She's going to make a wonderful Snow White," he said. "She's gonna do it in her Kristen-y way that only she can. But I'm really looking forward to it because I'm a big fan of her work."

Tobey Maguire: I Didn't Mean to Play Illegal Poker!

Tobey Maguire is looking to extract himself from a rather tangled web.

The former Spider-Man star has denied accusations that he knowingly participated inâ€"and won serious dough fromâ€"an illegal poker ring allegedly perpetrated by a Beverly Hills hedge fund manager.

Well, he's not exactly denying the dough part...

MORE: Jennifer Aniston Credit-Card Scammer Is Sentenced

Maguire admits that he won and duly received $187,000 (not $1 million, like one tabloid reported) from businessman Bradley Ruderman, who's currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for running a Ponzi scheme to pay off debts he rang up playing invitation-only Texas Hold 'Em with A-list enthusiasts like Maguire, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Leonardo DiCaprio.

But, the actor's attorney states in documents filed last week in L.A. Superior Court, Maguire "unconditionally denies having engaged in any conduct whatsoever in violation of law and further categorically denies having knowingly or intentionally participated in any fraudulent scheme."

A trustee representing the investors who got scammed sued Ruderman in March. The plaintiffs don't accuse Maguire of a role in masterminding the scheme; rather, they just want their money back.

Maguire's camp, meanwhile, states that the $168,500 he lost to Ruderman should offset any liability in this case.

The lawsuit alleges that Maguire and his buddies played in "controlled games" at five-star locales like the Four Seasons hotel and luxurious private homes in Beverly Hills, and that one woman in particularâ€"identified as Molly Bloomâ€"arranged for the food, booze and other amenities offered to the players, as well as kept track of everyone's winnings and losses.

Maguire's response also states that he did not know whether or not the games were so-called controlled games, or whether the venues he played at were licensed to host games (per California gambling law, it's illegal to operate any controlled game without the appropriate license).

As far as he knew, the Brothers star was just accepting invitations to play poker, his lawyer says.

Movie Review: Tom Hanks & Julia Roberts' Adult-Ed Romance Larry Crowne Barely Passable

Hot-buttered opinion on the latest flicks

Review in a Hurry: Not the head of the class. Tom Hanks plays the titular middle-aged college student who's hot for his burned-out teacher (Julia Roberts). Mildly amusing Larry gets a pass because of its likable leads but earns low marks for the flimsy plot and undercooked romance.

RELATED: Hanks dances the weather report en Español

The Bigger Picture: In addition to starring, co-producing, and co-scripting, Hanks takes the directorial reins for the first time since his buoyant 1996 debut, That Thing You Do! This go-round, that thing he does is less successful. Uneven in tone and pacing, Larry suffers from an identity crisis, unsure whether it's a wacky, back-to-school comedy or a bittersweet portrait of two lost souls at the crossroads.

Affable divorcé Larry (Hanks) gets fired from his managerial job for lacking a higher-ed degree, so he enrolls at a community college to improve his prospects. He also swaps his gas-guzzling SUV for a scooter, which attracts the attention of classmate Talia (Gugu Mbatha-Raw). This pretty sparkplug and her hipster pals inexplicably welcome nerdy Larry into their motorbike "gang," making over his clothes/hair/apartment in the process, and giving him a "cool" nickname.

This annoys Larry's embittered speech teacher Mercedes Tainot (Roberts, looking flawless, though her character drinks heavily and doesn't exercise). Down on men since discovering her husband's porn addiction, she wrongly assumes Larry is schtupping decades-younger Talia.

That misunderstanding is the main complication in this meandering romance, which makes a weak case for Larry and Mercedes to end up togetherâ€"except, ya know, it's Mr. Nice Guy and Ms. Mona Lisa Smile. Their one, fairly innocuous drunken encounter isn't reason enough to cheer their unlikely pairing or believe Mercedes' transformation.

The pic hits sympathetic notes in recession-era situations and wrings a few laughs from the classroomâ€"notably Star Trek's George Takei as a manic, cell-phone-snatching prof. But characters get painted in broad strokes when we want more substantive details. Larry's divorce goes unexplored, Mercedes too easily dumps her hubby, and friends/neighbors are only sit-commy sidekicks.

In the end, Larry is like that class you can ditch without missing much.

The 180â€"a Second Opinion: The cast is more eclectic than most, with co-stars Cedric the Entertainer, Pam Grier, Bryan Cranston, Wilmer Valderrama (seriously?), and the underused Taraji P. Henson.

To say Nick Cannon loves being a daddy/hubby is probably an understatement.

"I cherish going home every single day to my family," the proud papa, who recently became a father when wife Mariah Carey gave birth to twins Monroe and Moroccan, tells E! News. "It's great."

While the whole brood is currently together in New York City, where Cannon is getting ready to oversee Nathan's annual Fourth of July hot-dog-eating contest on Coney Island, unfortunately, that's not always the case.

"It's tough being away from my family," the America's Got Talent host points out. "It's so different than it was before, having to now leave those two little babies peering up at you to go to work."

Not to mention a significant other who seems fun to have around.

"She has a great sense of humor," Cannon says fondly. "She's always telling me, 'Oh, you should put this in your act.' She's actually the best punch-up joke writer I've ever met. She's on it and she's great...and it's one of the reasons why we fell in love."

OMG, Kate Middleton and Prince William Touch Down in Canada!

Going off on what people put on

The eagles have landed!

Newlyweds Kate Middleton and Prince William arrived in Ottawa just minutes ago to kick off their 10-day, eight-city Canadian tour.

As their plane came to a halt and the hatch opened, the big question was: Had the stylish Duchess of Cambridge changed clothes midair to meet the row of Canadian dignitaries waiting at the bottom of the steps?!

PHOTOS: Fashion Spotlight: Kate Middleton

Of course she did!

Kate swapped out the navy-blue Roland Mouret sheath with (Canadian-designed) Smythe jacket, pumps and bag that she wore in London for a very pretty midnight-blue lace dress with stone-colored lining and scalloped sleeves by edgy Montreal-based designer Erdem.

Smart duchess.

The burgeoning fashionista paired the formfitting dress with her favorite neutral L.K. Bennett pumps and a matching clutch, and even restyled her hair into a half-up, half-down 'do.

Wills, for the record, didn't change.

So far Kate's fashion tour is off to a gorgeous startâ€"as expected from this always appropriately attired lady.

We can't wait to see what else she'll wear. How about you?

Jonathan Rhys Meyers Hospitalized in London

Jonathan Rhys Meyers was rushed to a London hospital Tuesday after he was found slumped on the floor of his home.

Paramedics responded to an emergency call at the Tudors star's pad claiming the actor needed help, but he reportedly refused treatment for more than 30 minutes and police were called in to escort him to the hospital, Scotland Yard confirms to E! News.

Meyers, who has battled drinking problems in the past, was believed to have downed pills, reports The Sun, although a source close to the star tells us it was "not a suicide attempt."

MORE: About Jonathan on The Tudors

The 33-year-old thesp was released Wednesday morning from a Central London hospital, and had "no comment" when the Sun inquired about his well-being.

A source told the U.K. paper that the possible pill overdose was "very sad" and that those close to him were questioning whether the actor had tried to take his own life.

But a source close to the star said that although the actor relapsed (it was not immediately clear if that meant alcohol or drugs) he was not attempting suicide.

"It was not a suicide attempt. He did relapse and was hospitalized briefly for that, but was released," said the source.

Meyers has long had a history with booze-fueled troubles. In 2007, just fresh out of rehab for the second time, the Irish actor was busted for public drunkenness and breach of peace for threatening and abusive conduct against airport workers while waiting for a flight back to London from Dublin. The charges were ultimately dropped.

Two years later the Match Point star was in trouble again at the airport, when he allegedly punched a waiter at a bar in Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport and was charged with "willful violence, outrage, hitting and threatening death."

In 2010, he entered rehab yet again in London for an alcohol addiction after another airport altercation. The actor had been banned from flying United Airlines after a drunken scuffle at JFK airport.

Heidi Klum Talks Kim Kardashian's Wedding Dress!

She's (almost) always on the list

EXCLUSIVE!

Kim Kardashian isn't spilling any of her wedding dress detailsâ€"not even to her recent workout partner Heidi Klum!

"Everyone wants to know what she's gonna wear," Heidi told me last night while celebrating her own Hamptons magazine cover. "I don't know!"

"I'm sure she's gonna find something beautiful. She has good taste and she loves clothes," she added of the recent Project Runway guest judge.

The supermodel and mom also shared how she's getting bikini ready this summer...

"Lately, I've just been running," Heidi told me during the soiree on STK's rooftop. "I run four miles a day. Last year, I did 120 miles in seven weeks."

So that's the secret to looking so svelte after giving birth to four kids! (You can actually run the same program as Heidi does through her AOL site, if you want.)

"You can start running with me and you can log your miles to keep track of what they're running and how many I'm running. So they can see that I really do it every day. I have this little FitBit I attach to my clothes that counts all the calories and steps I do," she explained.

But even hotties like Heidi take days off.

She said she's skipping her run today after her cover celebration last night, where guests drank Courvoisier Rose cocktails.

Her hubby, Seal, wasn't with her last at the NYC bash, but the couple is clearly happier than ever.

"I think the secret is just to be in love. If you find the right person, there's not much to it," Heidi told me.

Will Pregnant Victoria Beckham Pose Naked?

Going off on what people put on

She just debuted a new, lower-priced line of dresses, but is Victoria Beckham also going to show off her bare baby bump?

Rumors spread months ago that the former Spice Girl would follow in the photographic footsteps of celebs Demi Moore, Britney Spears and Mariah Carey by posing naked while with child...

PHOTOS: Fashion Spotlight: Victoria Beckham

But alas, Victoria squashed that chatter by saying, "Absolutely not."

"I'm not really one of these people that likes to go out and pose and flaunt being pregnant," the burgeoning fashion designer told Women's Wear Daily. "Not like there's anything wrong in that. I'm so proud to be pregnant and I feel so blessed and so happy, I really do. But I'm just not that kind of person."

And if there's still any doubt left remaining, Posh concludes, "So, no, I won't be taking my clothes off. I don't think anyone needs to see that, other than my husband."

Vic has barely been spotted out at all during her pregnancy, so it's no surprise the camera-shy lady would strip down.

The British babe isn't shy, however, about discussing her future baby girl's style. Beckham baby No. 4 "already has an impressive wardrobe," David's other half says, "but not in an obnoxious way at all. I love the French clothes for little girls. I like little girls to look like little girls."

PHOTOS: Celeb Fashion Lines

And the celeb is also pretty excited about her aforementioned new collection, Victoria by Victoria Beckham, which is a line of sweet, girlie dresses.

The pieces, which were inspired by the cartoon character Emily the Strange, will retail between $550 and $900 and will launch in spring 2012.

Take a look below and tell us what you think of Victoria's new clothes!

Is the Transformers Movie Bombing? (And Could a Lack of Megan Fox Be to Blame?)

The new Transformers sequel opened Wednesday and, as expected, its box-office take was big and fat…

…And kinda puny compared to the last Transformers sequel!?

Um, what?

RELATED: Is Megan Fox still the most interesting thing about the Transformers franchise?

In its first full day in theaters, Transformers: Dark of the Moon grossed an estimated $37.3 million, good for sixth place on the list of all-time Wednesday openers.

But as you'll notice on that rundown, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is in second place, with a far bigger, far fatter $62 million debut.

That's a difference of 40 percent, as in Dark of the Moon, despite director Michael Bay's plea for audiences to see the 3-D movie in the most expensive 3-D theaters possible, did 40 percent less opening-day business than Revenge of the Fallen.

Perhaps the only thing more surprising is that at least one box-office analyst wasn't all that surprised.

"Usually by the third [movie in a franchise] you have the fatigue factor," Exhibitor Relations' Jeff Bock said today. "The second sequel is usually the peak of the franchise."

And so, for Bock, Dark of the Moon is about what he expected it to be: huge, but not as huge as its predecessor. He still thinks the new movie will near $185 million domestically by Monday's Fourth of July holiday. (Since opening in previews on Tuesday, Dark of the Moon is already at $42.5 million. And, so you know, Bay's 3-D entreaty was not exactly ignored: About 60 percent of his film's opening-day gross came from 3-D ticket sales, way up from the now-usual 40 percent.)

One thing Bock doesn't think is that Megan Fox, or rather the lack of Megan Fox, has anything to do with Dark of the Moon not keeping pace with Revenge of the Fallen.

"Absolutey nothing," Bock said. "She was window dressing all along."

Perhaps. But the windows drew so many more gawkers.
