The winner of I'm A Celebrity is...

After a nail-biting finale and a drama packed season, the winner of I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia 2023 has officially been crowned.

And the winner is… Liz Ellis!

As the official queen/king of the jungle for season nine, Liz has won $100,000 for their charity of choice, Share the Dignity.

"When I was thinking about my charity that I wanted to support, I walked into my local library with my kids, and in the toilet, there was what's called a dignity vending machine and I was intrigued," she revealed.

"I found out about it and the charity is called Share the Dignity and it works to provide period products to women who are fleeing domestic violence, who are homeless, who are living in poverty, who are living on the breadline. It just hit me that there will be so many women who would have to make the choice whether to buy period products or whether to buy food to put on the table.

"I've got a little girl and I'd hate for her to be in that position."

It was an intense finale for viewers as they watched the final three contestants: Netball legend Liz Ellis, boxer Harry Garisde and reality star Aesha Scott battle it out for the crown.

But their fate was ultimately left in the hands of their dedicated fans as they voted who would win in the live finale.

LIZ: And after weeks of placing bets on Sportsbet, it looks like fans were right! In the lead up to the finale, Liz was sitting at top spot after her competitor Peter Helliar left the camp in a shock elimination.

Now, Liz joins the long list of champions on I'm A Celebrity including Abbey Chatfield, Casey Donovan and Miguel Maestre.

And while we are thrilled to finally know the winner, this finale marks the final episode featuring Dr Chris Brown as host after eight years.

"It's definitely been [difficult], and that's been because I love the show so much," he told news.com.au.

"But it's allowed me to treasure every single day I've had over here. It's also given the entire crew the chance to crack jokes about it."

Now the veterinarian is moving back to where his career begun; Channel Seven.
