Grey Flannel Auctions, run by Richie Russek and his sons Darren and Michael, is the business at the heart of "All Star Dealers" (Tue., 8 p.m. EST on Discovery). This series features a new twist on the auction/resale/memorabilia genre of television taking over the airwaves. Grey Flannel specializes in and focuses on sports-related memorabilia.
Dennis Rodman made an appearance in this premiere installment, as Russek was visiting a storage locker filled with Rodman's own unique collection. But one item that Russek wanted in particular wasn't to be found, so he went straight to the source.
"Here's my big question. Where's the g*******d wedding dress?" he asked the NBA Hall of Famer. "We looked through boxes, Dennis. Do you know where it is?"
While Rodman didn't know exactly where the dress was, he did know he wasn't looking to part with it. "I might give it to my kids," he said. "One of these days probably just put it in [a] glass case. I think it'd mean more to them just because of the historical factor."
Rodman wore the dress to promote his biography "Bad As I Wanna Be" back in 1997, saying he was bisexual and intending to marry himself. "It's a part of American culture," Russek said of the dress. But it's a history Rodman will be keeping in the family -- at least for the time being.
"All Star Dealers" continued on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on Discovery.
