Lindsay Lohan was allegedly late this morning for her guest appearance on hit show Glee, following an appearance at a party in Hollywood last night.

Dot Marie Jones, who plays Coach Beiste on the show, tweeted: 'Gonna be a long day!! Some ppl show up late and just throw a wrench in things.

'Not cool! I'd rather be an hour early (I was) than 5 minutes late!'

Fun night out: Lindsay appeared to be having a good time at the event, as she mingled with friends and fans

Dot didn't name the tardy individual, and later deleted the tweet, but TMZ write that they have confirmed it was the 25-year-old.

However they also write that: 'Lindsay shot her big scenes the other day, and director Eric Stoltz has been saying she was 'very professional.'

'We're told she nailed her lines and was very polite to cast and crew.'

She's said to be back on set today purely for 'reaction shots,' and didn't hold up production at all.

She will soon be playing one of the original Hollywood screen sirens when she takes on the role of Elizabeth Taylor in a new movie biopic.

And last night Lohan seemed to take inspiration from the late star in her unusually modest - yet undeniably sexy - choice of outfit.

She went for a '60s style shape - albeit with modern gold studs - for attended magazine's All Hollywood party at AV nightclub in Hollywood.

Lindsay teamed a black top with unusual gold sleeves, black miniskirt and black and nude heels as she posed up for photographers outside the event.

She wore her strawberry-blonde hair in loose curls around her shoulders, and teamed the outfit with gold jewellery and red nails.

Lindsay's evening out came as it was confirmed she would be playing Taylor in upcoming biopic Liz & Dick.

However, news of the casting didn't go down well with everybody, with comedienne Rosie O'Donnell coming forward to say she believes Lindsay isn't in the 'frame of mind' to work.

She had said: 'I feel very sorry for her. I think she needs a lot of help. She needs time away. She's had a lot of trouble doing every single movie, including Saturday Night Live. She was out and not at rehearsal. I think she's not in a place to work.

'The last thing she did good she was 16. I don't think she's right for the role and I don't think she's capable at this point of doing what's needed.'

However, following Rosie's claims, Lindsay's representative Steve Honig told RadarOnline that the actress is more than ready for the new role.

He was quoted as saying: 'I think Rosie should focus on her own career and stop worrying about everyone else's.

'It's hard to take these comments seriously considering they are coming from someone who just had her own talk show cancelled, but I guess she has to find a way to stay in the news, even if it is at the expense of someone else.'

Lindsay's father Michael also came forward to defend his formerly troubled daughter, insisting Rosie is in no position to judge.

He said: 'Is Rosie in any position to judge anyone? Failed marriage, two failed shows, slamming other celebs and high profile people. Please!

'I was and am the first one to point out my own faults, Lindsay's and even others' when we are wrong, but when we are not, I will fight tooth and nail for what's right!

'In this case, Rosie, you are wrong. So why don't you, and all in agreement with you, just sit back. shut up and see if Lindsay proves herself before blabbing your unwarranted opinions.'
