âTodayâ Show co-hosts Al Roker, Ann Curry and Matt Lauer talk with Sarah Palin during the show in New York Tuesday.
Itâs not exactly the White House, but Sarah Palin is enjoying her victory in the national referendum on morning shows.
Tuesdayâs telecast of NBCâs âTodayâ Show, featuring Palin as a guest co-host, triumphed over ABCâs rival âGood Morning Americaâ with Katie Couric filling in as co-host.
It was apparently extra sweet for the former Alaska Gov., whose 2008 interview with Couric proved to be a disaster to the Republican campaign.
âFrankly, Iâm ecstatic we beat the âperky one,â although I wouldnât have gone up against ABCâs vacationing Robin Roberts, because sheâs such a good egg,â Palin said in an email to Zap2it.com.
It was her second potshot at Couric in the span of a few hours.

On a Tuesday night appearence on Fox News, Palin said of Matt Lauerâs questioning: âI thought, well this could be worse, in fact Iâve had worse in interviews, you know, with questions like, what do you read up there in Alaska to stay connected with the real world â" where youâre rolling your eyes like, are you kidding me?â
The ratings victory wasnât a landslide: NBCâs breakfast show averaged 5.497 million viewers Tuesday, according to the Nielsen Co., putting âGMAâ 356,000 behind it with 5.141 million.
