‘Today’ Show co-hosts Al Roker, Ann Curry and Matt Lauer talk with Sarah Palin during the show in New York Tuesday.

It’s not exactly the White House, but Sarah Palin is enjoying her victory in the national referendum on morning shows.

Tuesday’s telecast of NBC’s “Today” Show, featuring Palin as a guest co-host, triumphed over ABC’s rival “Good Morning America” with Katie Couric filling in as co-host.

It was apparently extra sweet for the former Alaska Gov., whose 2008 interview with Couric proved to be a disaster to the Republican campaign.

“Frankly, I’m ecstatic we beat the ‘perky one,’ although I wouldn’t have gone up against ABC’s vacationing Robin Roberts, because she’s such a good egg,” Palin said in an email to Zap2it.com.

It was her second potshot at Couric in the span of a few hours.

On a Tuesday night appearence on Fox News, Palin said of Matt Lauer’s questioning: “I thought, well this could be worse, in fact I’ve had worse in interviews, you know, with questions like, what do you read up there in Alaska to stay connected with the real world â€" where you’re rolling your eyes like, are you kidding me?”

The ratings victory wasn’t a landslide: NBC’s breakfast show averaged 5.497 million viewers Tuesday, according to the Nielsen Co., putting “GMA” 356,000 behind it with 5.141 million.
