Virtual Tupac Might Go On Tour, Would You Pay To See Him? - Cinema Blend

Musicians at the peak of their fame might sell the most albums and receive the most airplay, but the older favorites tend to be the ones who haul in the most concert revenue. Whether they have a song on the charts or not, bands like U2, Bon Jovi, the Rolling Stones and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers have proven time and again they can put asses in the seats. The real question is whether they could continue to do so even after they’re gone.

That idea might seem a ludicrous thought, but after Coachella, it might not be that far-fetched. Fans have been buzzing about a lot of acts they saw at the festival during the weekend, but none have garnered nearly the attention Tupac did. A virtual image of the rapper appeared alongside Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg to the delight of the massive crowd. The image was crystal clear and mimicked an entire performance, as many beloved hip-hop icons joined the deceased legend on stage.

Now, according to The Wall Street Journal, early discussions are being had about the feasibility of taking the Digital Domain Media Group creation on the road. The tentative tour would likely include at least Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg and potentially could expand to bring on board numerous other rappers. The idea is certainly a bit off the wall, but given the early fan interest, it could potentially make a ton of money.
