Batman!!!!
Itâs The Green Lantern!
The emerald defender, one of DC Comics classic superheroes, has been rewritten as homosexual as part of the artistic brandâs New 52 initiative - a reimagining of legendary characters for todayâs more enlightened society!
Alan Scott AKA The Green Lantern was originally a married father of two, whose son was previously written as gay.
BUT, because the super has been youthfully revamped, Scottâs family life was nixed and writer James Robinson suggested Scott be gay instead.
"The only downside of his being young was we lose his son, Obsidian, who's gay. So I thought, 'Why not make Alan Scott gay?' That was the seed that started it⦠It's a realistic depiction of society, you have to move with the times.
I hope he's a positive figure. If there's some kind of kid out there who's reading the comic and who's worried about the person he is, maybe it will give him a positive sense of who he is. Or maybe a different kid will read it and decide I don't need to bully some kind of kid in school."
Weâre sure that one small religious group who likes to inflate their popularity by calling themselves One Million Moms will have LOTS of hateful words to spew about DCâs decision.
BUT Robinson has some choice words of his own: "We should be preaching love and tolerance."
TESTIFY! Respect for one another is the ONLY way the human race can move forward! We are overjoyed to be a part of this beautiful, human experience!
