Some couples try to talk more through the medium of therapy, and others schedule in more date nights to rekindle their flame.

But it seems Adrienne Maloof tried to solver her marriage issues by having an open relationship.

However, not even the liberal approach could save the romance, as The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star's nine-year marriage was reported to be over yesterday.

Radar also claim that Maloof's estranged husband Dr Paul Nassif wasted no time moving out and is no longer at the family mansion.

A source said: 'Adrienne and Paul have pretty much had an open marriage for quite some time.

'They both knew of indiscretions the other had, and both would get jealous, but their marriage had become so broken it was the only option for them.'

Yesterday it was reported that the reality star's marriage had ended.

Adrienne has since been uncharacteristically quiet on Twitter over the last 48 hours.

Plastic surgeon Dr Paul Nassif filed for legal separation, stating he wanted joint legal and physical custody of their three sons.

Maloof said she was 'sorry' in a statement to Radar.

'I'm so sorry that this is happening but my children are my life and sometimes we need to do what's best for them.

'It's an unfortunate situation but, I have to have my kids best interest at heart.'

Nassif stated that there was a pre-nuptial agreement and asked for each couple to pay their own legal fees.

Businesswoman Maloof is estimated to be worth around $300m.

Her myriad of business interests include the various holdings of Maloof Companies, of which she is co-owner - notably the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, the basketball team Sacramento Kings, development company Maloof Productions, and record company Maloof Music.

Dr Nassif told TMZ: 'The welfare of our children is my primary focus as Adrienne and I work through this difficult time.

'I want the best for her and our children and I hope that everyone can respect our privacy away from the cameras.'

Set to split? The couple have been married for nine years but apparently have hit yet another rough patch in their relationship

A source told Radar there was no one else involved in the split.

'Adrienne was dragged through the dirt during filming of the upcoming season, and it really wore on her.

‘Paul and Adrienne have always fought, it's how they were as a couple. However, at this point, they realise that they are just want very different things, and neither one of them is happy in the marriage.’

The website previously claimed Maloof didn't go on a trip with the other housewives to Paris, France, because she was fed up with the drama.

‘Adrienne Maloof decided not to go because the other girls keep ganging up on her, and it just got to the point of being utterly ridiculous.’

Meanwhile, rival Lisa Vanderpump didn’t appear to be having any marital problems as she was spied with husband of 30 years Ken Todd yesterday.

The pair went to their restaurant in Beverly Hills for lunch and looked blissful with their flashily dressed puppy.
