The 2023 MLB All-Star Celebrity Softball Game rosters are peppered with a wide variety of famous folks.
The 2023 MLB All-Star Game will air at 8:00 PM E.T. on July 11. All the best players in the world on the biggest stage; it doesn't get much better than that.
Before the All-Star Game, however, is the Celebrity All-Star Game. A wide variety of singers, actors, athletes, and other famous folks will take the field at T-Mobile Park in Seattle for a friendly softball match.
It's unwise to expect great softball in the traditional sense, but there should be plenty of entertainment derived from the comedy of errors bound to take place.
When does the MLB All-Star Celebrity Softball Game start? The MLB All-Star Celebrity Softball Game will take place at 10 PM E.T. on Saturday, July 8. The game will air after the All-Star Futures Game, which will feature the best young prospects in the sport.
MLB All-Star Celebrity Softball Game rosters: Who is playing? Here are the confirmed participants, via CBS Sports.
A few names leap off the page — starting with the former MLB players. Ryan Howard is one of the great power hitters of our time. If anyone's going to go yard, he's a strong bet.
Meanwhile, Natasha Watley and Jennie Finch are Olympic Gold Medalists for softball. This is notably a softball game, not a baseball game.
Zach LaVine and Donovan Mitchell are two of the best athletes in the world, period. The celebrity softball game probably won't involve too much high-jumping or sprinting, but it's easy to bet on pure physical gifts in this setting. Mitchell and LaVine are on MVP watch.
Rodrygo is a professional soccer player (sorry, football). He, too, checks the athletic boxes with his endurance, footwork, and speed.
Chloe Kim is another top-shelf athlete. A gold medalist in snowboarding, which takes a heck of a lot of core strength, dexterity, and durability.
The game will be worth a watch, if only to see which 'players' provide the most amusing blunders. Adam Devine and Joel McHale are both comedians. Be on the lookout for shenanigans.
