ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - Discussions surrounding aphasia and dementia are picking up after recent news that Wendy Williams has been diagnosed with the conditions.
Williams is not the only celebrity bringing attention to the disease, with Bruce Willis diagnosed with aphasia in 2022.
To better understand the conditions and the importance of advocacy, Brooke Gill with the Alzheimer's Association Central and Western Virginia joined Here @ Home to explain the signs and symptoms of the diseases.
Gill reminded viewers that the Alzheimer's Association has a 24/7 hotline at 800-272-3900 to help families address their concerns and provide resources.
