Hollywood Week on 'American Idol': How did Black Mountain siblings do in the 1st round?

Brother and sister Max and Laela Dasher stand with their family after they both had successful first auditions on "American Idol."

Hollywood Week is underway on "American Idol," and both Black Mountain-based singers in the competition have moved forward to the next round.

Though siblings Max Dasher and Laela Dasher Skinner did not have their performances shown during the March 31 episode, the pair were shown several times reacting to their fellow contestants' performances.

The night started with 143 contestants who moved on from the audition round, each having received at least two "yeses" from judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.

Each contestant was called at a random order to the "Idol Arena" stage, where they performed a single song of their choosing.

After each contestant performed, the judges picked 56 of the 143 to continue to the "Showstoppers" round that will air April 1.

The judges sorted groups of contestants into two groups at a time, usually sending one group home and keeping the second. The Black Mountain siblings were in the last groups of two to be called, with Max Dasher being in Group 1 and Laela Dasher Skinner being in Group 2. After a night of only sending one group through to the next round, the judges told these groups that both would be advancing, sending both Dasher siblings to the Showstopper round.

These 56 who moved on Sunday night will be pared down to 24 after Monday night's cuts. These 24 will go on to the live shows.

The "Idol Arena" first episode of Hollywood Week will be streaming on Hulu starting April 1. The second episode of Hollywood Week airs April 1 on ABC, streaming next day on Hulu.
