In the nearly 2,500 first year students that start at Brown University each fall, there's almost always at least one celebrity or celebrity's kid in the bunch.
Actress Emma Watson famously attended. Catherine Zeta-Jones' son attended Brown. Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick's son also attended the prestigious university.
And so it's little surprise that another celebrity's child is enrolling at Brown this fall: Gwyneth Paltrow's 18-year-old son Moses.
At her recent Goop Health Summit, In Goop Health, this month, Paltrow admitted to being more than a little apprehensive about what her life is going to look like when her son moves into his dorm.
Gwyneth Paltrow's son Moses will be attending Brown University.
"It's kind of giving me a nervous breakdown, if I'm honest. I started being like, 'Oh my God, and I need to quit my job and I need to sell my house and I need to move,'" she said at the summit according to Hollywood Reporter. "It's sort of putting things into turmoil."
With her other child Apple turning 20 soon, she said at the summit that she's figuring out what her identity is going to look like with the kids out of the house.
"I've oriented my whole life around them and their schedules and when school starts. You start to let go in increments when they're driving themselves around or doing certain things," she said. "It is a slower process. I feel really lucky because I have a close group of mom friends and we all raised our kids alongside one another. So we're kind of in it together."
RI College alums: 25 famous alumni from RI colleges and universities. Emma Watson is just the start.
Taking advice from psychologist Jennifer Freed, she said she's trying to think of herself as a 'free bird' instead of an empty nester.
"That resonates," she said. "Instead of creating a sense of loss, what if I were free? And I could say yes to a girls' weekend, because I didn't feel guilty. That kind of thing."
