Camila Cabello opened up on losing virginity aged 20 to celebrity ex-boyfriend

Camila Cabello claims that losing her virginity was a 'beautiful' experience and that her celebrity ex-boyfriend helped to 'expand' her world.

Cuban singer/songwriter Cabello, 27, has been a firm fixture of the entertainment industry since debuting in 2012.

After initially being cut from bootcamp on The X Factor, she was quickly brought back and joined fellow axed contestants Ally Brooke, Normani, Lauren Jauregui and Dinah Jane to form Fifth Harmony.

The girl group eventually placed third in the singing competition and went on to release two albums before Cabello announced her shock departure.

Since then, the star has forged her own solo signing career, starred in 2021's Cinderella alongside Nicholas Galitzine and voiced Viva in 2023's Trolls Band Together.

While she's experienced some major milestones in her professional life it appears she's been just as busy in her personal time.

In a recent interview with The Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard podcast, Cabello opened up about dating a pretty famous relationships expert and revealed what it was like to lose her virginity.

Of course, virginity is a social construct, but people seem to be very interested in the ages that celebrities had their first sexual encounter.

Cabello admitted she'd had sex for the first time 'pretty late' and had shared the moment with British life coach, YouTuber and writer Matthew Hussey.

"I had my first relationship at that time," she told the 49-year-old. "I had actually listened to [Hussey's] podcast before…because he had, like, a dating podcast. And he is married now, so congratulations!"

She continued: "It was late for my first relationship. I was 20.

"That was my first time having sex. First lovemaking was at 20, 21. … It was literally lovemaking. It was beautiful."

The former couple dated for just a little over a year, between 2018 and 2019, but it appears there is no bad blood between them.

"He was a really great person," Cabello explained, "It was like the perfect first relationship. It really expanded my world because he wasn't in my industry too.

"It was like, 'Oh my God, have you ever seen Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown and have you ever seen Studio Ghibli films?"

Following their break-up, Cabello embarked on a romance with fellow singer Shawn Mendes, 25, after initially meeting in 2014 when they were the opening acts for Austin Mahone's Live On Tour.

In 2015, the pair released the track 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' before working together again to release the steamy collab 'SeƱorita' four years later.

It's reported that Mendes and Cabello began dating in 2019 but called it quits just over two years later.
