9 Pairs of Celebrity 'Twins' You Have Been Mixing Up For Years

We've all been guilty of confusing a celebrity or two, believing that one actor is actually the other. Maybe they have similar facial features, play the same types of roles or just give off a similar vibe… but whatever the cause, somehow we just can't seem to keep them straight.

Luckily, most stars seem amused and flattered by being mistaken for their doppelgänger — here, we take a look at some of the most common Hollywood mix-ups.

You may recognize Natalie Portman from Black Swan (2010) or Jackie (2016), while Keira Knightley is best known for Love Actually (2003) and Pride & Prejudice (2005), but it's clear to see they more than slightly resemble each other. In fact, Knightley played a double for Portman on screen in Star Wars: Episode I- The Phantom Menace (1999).

In 2018, Knightley shared that she is often mistaken for different celebrities, but agrees with this particular comparison. "I've been chased through an airport as Natalie Portman a lot." She also said she's been mistaken for Britney Spears, but we don't exactly understand that comparison.

2. Amy Adams and Isla Fisher: Celebrity Lookalikes

This lookalike comparison is not only because both celebs have red hair. Isla Fisher and Amy Adams look so similar that even Lady Gaga mixed the two up.

"I was there, all fancy and dressed up at the bar and schmoozing with show-biz types, and the crowds parted and there was Lady Gaga," recalls Fisher. "She's heading right towards me and she says, 'Thank you. Your performance in American Hustle, Amy....'" Fisher chose not to correct her because of Gaga's fame, but nonetheless recounted the hilarious story to Jimmy Kimmel.

Again, it's the red heads! Jessica Chastain and Bryce Dallas Howard are often confused for each other. Chastain is known for The Help (2011), while Howard is often recognized for Jurassic World (2015).

Chastain made a hilarious TikTok about people mixing she and the actress up. "When you spend 20 years building a career and they still think you work at Jurassic Park," Chastain said in the video.

Both of the actresses did star together in The Help, hence the confusion, but these celebrity doppelgängers are very different people.

Yes, people do often mix up Superman and the star of White Collar, Matt Bomer and Henry Cavill. Ironically, Bomer was almost cast as Superman in a 2003 film that never actually happened (though he voiced the character once), so it makes sense that these Men of Steel are mistaken by people in terms of who they actually are. But we'd be happy to be saved by either of these hunks!

These two celebrity "twins" may as well be the same person — a point Victoria Justice and Nina Dobrev agree with.

Justice shared in an interview, "I went to a premiere for a movie Nina did for MTV a while ago. I was on the red carpet and one of her cast members walked up to me and started kissing and hugging me saying, 'Nina, you look so beautiful!' I was like, 'I'm definitely not Nina and I don't know you!'"

In a case of mistaken identity, these blonde beauties were confused for each other by a fan. Reese Witherspoon took to Twitter in 2020 and said, "To the woman in the parking lot who just asked me if I was Carrie Underwood: You officially made my day!"

Obviously the southern actress was thrilled to be mistaken for the country singer and it seems that Underwood shared the excitement, tweeting back, "YOUR day?!?!?!?! That lady just made my whole life!"

The actress and singer have been compared for years thanks to their light blue eyes, dark hair and similar facial features. What's funny is that Katy Perry admits that she's used the resemblance to her advantage.

Perry shared with Zooey Deschanel recently that when she first arrived in L.A., she had no fame whatsoever, but her doppelgänger was on the rise. Perry said, "I wanted to get into the club and I had no money, I had no clout, I had nothing, and sometimes I would pose as you to get into the club." Deschanel said she had heard her lookalike was out and about using her name, but the actress didn't seem to mind.
