A man was fatally shot in Coral Springs Monday morning, police said.
The shooting happened in the area of the 200 block of Lakeview Drive shortly before 9:40 a.m., according to Coral Springs Police.
Officers arrived at 9:41 am and found the wounded man lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. Police and Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department first-responders treated the man at the scene, where he died. His name was not immediately made public.
A gun was recovered at the scene, police said.
No arrests had been announced as of Monday afternoon, but police "do have one individual [who was at the scene] that we are speaking to about the incident at this time, not under arrest, not detained," Coral Springs Police Chief Bradley McKeone said in a Facebook video post on Monday.
No additional suspects are being sought in connection with the killing, police said.
Investigators believe that the shooter and the dead man knew each other.
"There is no threat to the community," McKeone said.
