Robert Irwin spotted with rumoured Australia Zoo employee sparking new romance gossip

Robert Irwin has been spotted with a mystery woman sparking rumours of a new love interest.

The 20-year-old was snapped with the brunette woman at Sydney airport last Tuesday following an appearance on The Project as part of his TV Week Gold Logie campaign.

According to New Idea, the woman is a fellow Australia Zoo employee named Charlotte.

"Robert and his friend looked very, very comfortable together," a source told the magazine.

"They were chatting and laughing and it looked like they'd known each other for ages.

"They looked very couple-y."

Another source told the publication Irwin could be set to reveal his new relationship status at the star-studded Sydney event.

"Robert debuted his relationship with Rorie at the Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One premiere in Sydney last year," they said.

"It would not be a surprise at all if he took his new friend as his date to the Logies, which are being held in Sydney on August 18."

The sighting comes after Irwin suddenly ended his relationship with Perth-based Rorie Buckey after 18 months of dating.

They made a joint statement about their break-up in a post shared to Buckey's Instagram page.

The statement read: "We wanted to share that we have decided to go our separate ways but profoundly appreciate all the time spent together and wish one another all the very best into the future.

"We wish to express the gratitude and respect we have for one another as we continue our journeys on different paths.

"We won't be commenting further on this, and really appreciate your respect and privacy at this time."

The young star has also caught the eyes of fans for looking extra buff recently.

Irwin shared to Men's Health magazine earlier this year that he'd increased his "weight training, running and swimming".
