SA celebrity gossip troll Musa Khawula not dead, serving two months in jail

SOUTH AFRICA – Despite rumours that he had passed away, South African gossip blogger Musa Khawula is still alive and has only been quiet because of his arrest on contempt of court charges.

Social media has been awash with rumours that Khawula had passed away, as he has not been pushing any juicy celebrity gossip on any of his social media platforms.

Khawula is serving a 60-day jail term after he was arrested on July 9 in the Western Cape after appearing at the Vredenburg Magistrates Court, where he is accused of murder.

Khawula faces a murder charge for allegedly stabbing his ex-boyfriend, Wandile Khambule, to death in March 2022. On the day of the incident, it's alleged that Khawula went to the house of Wandile's girlfriend where they were having fun.

It's alleged the two former lovebirds argued in the house over an undisclosed matter. The girlfriend asked them to go outside so they could "fix their issues", but a few moments later, she heard people scream, asking Musa not to stab Wandile.

Khawula, who calls himself "the pope of pop culture", is known for his popular self-titled YouTube channel, which has over 83k subscribers and over 200 videos.

Over the years, he has attacked almost every Mzansi celebrity including Somizi Mhlongo, media darlings Bonang Matheba and Minnie Dlamini, actress Pearl Thusi, the late rapper AKA and even made damning allegations against former minister, Fikile Mbalula's wife, Nozuko Mbalula, and her business partner, Michelle Perrow.

As rumours of his demise circulated, Somizi threw a jab at Khawula on Instagram, saying he would not believe news of his death until the blogger announced it himself.

"When he hears that he's died. Ps: I'm not believing until he himself announces that he has died or if I go to the funeral lol," Somizi captioned a post on Instagram.
