TikToker Kyle Marisa Roth's cause of death determined by autopsy report

The cause of death for Kyle Marisa Roth, a Hollywood gossip TikToker who died in April at the age of 36, has been determined.

Roth died of cardiac arrhythmia due to myocardial fibrosis, according to a post mortem report from the office of the chief medical examiner for the state of Maryland obtained by TODAY.com.

A heart arrhythmia is an irregular heartbeat, when it beats too fast, too slow or inconsistently, according to Mayo Clinic.

Myocardial fibrosis is a condition caused by the buildup of scar tissue in the heart muscle, according to the Oklahoma Heart Hospital.

Anything that can cause damage to the heart can cause scar tissue, though heart attacks are the most common cause of myocardial fibrosis, according to the Oklahoma Heart Hospital.

Toxicology testing determined Roth tested positive for diphenhydramine, also known as Benadryl, and mitragynine, an alkaloid that can be used for pain management, and was negative for alcohol, according to the report.

"An expanded toxicology panel sent to the Drug Enforcement Agency was performed which did not reveal additional substances," the medical examiner's office wrote in the report.

Her manner of death was natural, according to the report.

Roth's death was announced on April 15 in an Instagram post from her older sister, Lindsay Roth.

"As a family we are still processing and deciding how to properly celebrate and honor her life. we don't know happened yet. i know she touched so many people with her humor, intelligence, beauty, gossip activism, athleticism and more — she had so many gifts," Lindsay Roth wrote in the caption.

Jacquie Cohen Roth, Roth's mother, told TODAY.com in April her family had been overwhelmed with messages of support.

"She loved so hard all of the entirety of her life," Jacquie Cohen Roth said. "And that's what we're going to miss so much. Just how hard she loves."

"We all want more," she added. "And the world is a darker place without her."

Actor Julia Fox commented on Lindsay Roth's post at the time.

"I know I never met Kyle in real life, but I really felt like I knew her. I'm so devastated and have been crying ever since the news leaked on TikTok," Fox said. "She was a ray of sunshine and I will miss her deeply."

Jacquie Cohen Roth said she and her daughters had been sharing stories, laughing and crying as they reminisced about Kyle Roth.

"This is what we were laughing about — Kyle would have loved this," she said of Fox's comment.

"I remember the day that Kyle said that Julia Fox watched her videos," she added. "TikTok, I mean, the people — they were her community. They were her friends. They were so generous."
