Bobby Norris opens up about 'disturbing' online trolling in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins

In the premiere episode of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, it's safe to say that all the celebrities were pushed to their limit. But the one who seemed to have the roughest ride of them all was Bobby Norris.

At the beginning of the episode, Norris, who found fame on The Only Way Is Essex, vowed: "However tough it gets, however cold I am, I'm giving this everything."

But from the very first task, the cracks started to show, leading to the reality star making some startling revelations.

What, how, and why?

The celebrities' first task was to make their way across two parallel beams suspended 335 feet in the air in New Zealand. However, Norris remained frozen to the spot and shaking before he even got up the ladder, which led to him garnering an instant fail. He then returned to the group in tears and was comforted by other celebrities.

As the episode went on, things didn't get much better for Norris. He threw up twice: once on the way back from the first challenge and then again on the way to the second one.

He was later ranked the worst recruit on the course, which led to the instructors pulling him in for a private talk to grill him about his reasons for coming onto the show.

"I want to be able to walk away proud if I can overcome fears or not be so consumed by them," he said. "I want to be able to take control back."

He then opened up about the impact years of internet trolling had on him: "People would take the time to superimpose my face onto people being beheaded, shot." he revealed. "Disturbing, dark s**t."

He continued: "I fell down a rabbit hole of filling my face with Botox because really it was like a mask. One day it didn't feel like it suited me anymore."

"I wanted to just be happy in my own skin, being me," he added.

After a pep talk from the instructors, who assured him that they too wanted to see the "real him," Norris ended the episode with renewed determination.

"I'm not someone who walks away from anything," he said. "I wouldn't give them the satisfaction of seeing a quitter."

What else happened on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins?

The only celebrity who quite possibly had a worse time than Norris was John Barrowman. The Doctor Who star began the competition confidently, declaring: "I want people to see the kind of person I really am."

But precisely 32 minutes later, after failing the first task, the star vomited, ripped off his number, and quit.

After throwing up, Mark 'Billy' Billingham asked Barrowman if he wanted to see a doctor, to which he replied: "No... I'm done. I just... it's not for me, I know who I am and what I'm about, it's not for me."

He later told The Sun that he quit after getting ill from "vile tofu" sandwiches.

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins is streaming on Channel 4.
