Chiefs head coach Andy Reid offered a deeper update revealing that the presumed weeks it would take for Brown to heal from surgery might lead to his being out for "months."
Brown had already been placed on IR, but any kind of surgery can often lead to more time needed to completely heal. That appears to be the case for the wide receiver, who could end up missing a majority of the regular season.
With the news of the surgery and injury, Brown took to social media to speak about his feelings on having to miss significant time in the 2024 NFL season.
"Disappointed , frustrated, and Sad was the first wave of emotions once I realized I would need surgery but that only lasted a day or so because Of my Faith in God. knowing that this to shall pass , no matter the great opportunity I had in front of me. It's not over and that's not the path God wanted for me and I'm perfectly fine with that now .I feel it's my duty to let everyone know out there no matter if things are going good or not going the way you want it to, never wary from your faith but to lean and trust into God no matter the situation...With that being said let's enjoy some great football !! Let's go Chiefs!! See yall Soon."

Brown has had an up-and-down career, only posting over 1,000 receiving yards in one season since he arrived in the NFL in 2019. Still, he could have rebounded his career in a big way catching passes from quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
The Chiefs will now rely on Rashee Rice, rookie Xavier Worthy, and potentially JuJu Smith-Schuster, who was recently brought back after spending the 2022 season with Kansas City.
