George and Amal Clooney are certainly one of the most notable celebrity couples. With a casual combined net worth of $570 million, the A-listers are always making headlines—whether it's for their style, love story, or humanitarian efforts. The pair has also built quite an astounding global real estate portfolio with properties in California, New York, Italy, England, France, and Mexico. From the iconic Lake Como villa (which, no, is not for sale!) located in an area that gave George honorary mayor status to a charming French country house on 425 acres, the power couple owns many enviable residences. Read on to learn everything we know about the homes they currently own—as well as those they once called home—below.

1995: George Buys a $2.2 Million Los Angeles Home

Before George and Amal began their lives together, George purchased a $2.2 million villa in Los Angeles's Studio City neighborhood from none other than the rock legend Stevie Nicks. At the time, the main house spanned over 7,000 square feet and included six bedrooms. Since then, the ER star has invested millions into the property, so it's likely even bigger and better today. In a 2018 Vogue interview, Amal revealed that the L.A. home has become more of a private oasis for their family rather than a place for entertaining guests, especially after they welcomed their twins in 2017.

However, according to TMZ, George recently sold the home to former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo and San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey for more than $14 million. The purchase comes a few months after the newlyweds got married at a dreamy Victorian venue in New England in July 2024.

In the early 2000s, George invested millions in an Italian property known as Villa Oleandra. The 18th-century residence is located in the Italian commune of Laglio, which is situated on the western branch of Lake Como. It reportedly boasts 25 rooms with amenities including an outdoor pool, tennis courts, gym, home theater, and a big garage that holds Clooney's vintage motorcycles. Some reports say Clooney originally shelled out $10 million to buy the villa from the Heinz family in 2002, while others place the price at $7 million. The property reportedly needed major restoration work when he purchased it. Over the years, George and Amal have hosted many of their A-list friends at the villa, including Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, Jennifer Aniston, and Matt Damon. Clooney also owns an adjacent property called Villa Margherita, which he's rumored to have bought around the same time, making the estate one of the largest private homes in the area, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Since the actor acquired Villa Oleandra, rumors about him selling the property have swirled many times. Most recently, he was said to have been selling the home for $107 million in September 2023, but the actor later confirmed that the rumor wasn't true. It seems as though he's never tried to sell the place, and it's easy to imagine why he wouldn't want to!

2009: George Builds a Mexico Getaway With Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford

Designing a multibillion-dollar vacation home to enjoy with your friends sounds like the ultimate dream—and George did just that in Los Cabos with Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford circa 2009. They worked with architect Ricardo Legoretta to custom design two homes right next to each other that were loosely connected and became collectively known as Casamigos. "There's nothing more depressing than being in a big old house by yourself," George told Architectural Digest when their homes were featured in the publication. "You want to fill it with friends and family because that's what makes a home."

Each structure features a long hallway that flows into a central courtyard, which connects to sitting areas, dining spaces, an open kitchen, and a bar. The homes also came with their own pools and terraces. The celebrity friend group ultimately sold their party palaces to a Mexican billionaire for an undisclosed amount in 2016.

2014: George and Amal Buy $13 Million Island Home in England

In 2014, George and Amal got engaged and then had a fabulous wedding in Venice, Italy—all in just five months. Around that time, the newlyweds also bought a house in England. Set on a tiny island on the River Thames called Sonning Eye, the abode is where they spent their honeymoon "camping out in the unfurnished rooms," according to Vogue. They reportedly paid roughly $13 million for the home, which, says the article, features an entry hall with "towering ceilings" and "crisp Georgian molding." There's also a pool house for entertaining and working, a screening room, and a garden encased in glass with citrus trees.

2016: George and Amal Snap Up a $14.75 Million New York City Condo

The actor and lawyer set their sights on New York City when they reportedly purchased a condo in midtown Manhattan for an estimated $14.75 million. Designed by architecture firm Foster + Partners, the building is located at 100 East 53rd Street. Not much is known about the unit the Clooneys lived in, but it's said to have been on one of the higher floors in the 63-story building. Each of the structure's 94 loft-style units boasts high ceilings and walls of windows. At the time, the location was ideal for the couple because it was close to the United Nations, where Amal sometimes handled human rights cases, and not too far from Columbia Law School, where Amal was reportedly teaching at the time.

2021: George and Amal Shell Out $8.3 Million for French Country Home

The Clooneys reportedly made another big European purchase in 2021. This time, they went for an $8.3 million Provence wine estate called Domaine du Canadel. Located in Brignoles, France, the 18th-century property spans 425 acres and features a 25-acre vineyard, 72-foot pool, tennis courts, gardens, an olive grove, and a lake. Not much is known about the main residence, but it reportedly spans 10,000 square feet across three floors. The mayor of Brignoles shared a photo with the couple on social media, appearing to confirm the sale and welcome them to the area. He wrote, "Welcome to Brignoles! It's now official, George and Amal Clooney are residents of our beautiful community. I have had the pleasure of meeting them, by their invitation, at Domaine du Canadel, where they will soon set down their suitcases."
