Spirit Airlines, one of the world's most prominent ultra low-cost carriers, has launched new service out of Burbank, giving passengers a direct link to Silicon Valley for under fifty bucks.
On Wednesday, Spirit began daily service between the Hollywood-Burbank Airport and San Jose Mineta International Airport in San Jose.
The direct flights are currently available at an introductory price of $39 one way for any trips that take place between Sept. 25 through Nov. 19 — subject to availability.

"We're thrilled our California Guests can now enjoy an elevated travel journey on our new nonstop service between San Jose and Burbank," said John Kirby, Vice President of Network Planning at Spirit Airlines. "Our daily route offers affordable, high-value travel options between two major cities for Golden State travelers and is a convenient alternative to driving."
It's the fourth direct flight Spirit offers out of Burbank; the airline also flies to Las Vegas, Oakland and Sacramento.
Spirit Airlines says it has strived to improve the guest experience on its flights, offering four new travel options that "all include the flexibility of no change or cancel fees."
Each travel option offers a range of perks from larger seats, checked bags and WiFi access to the bare-bones, get-me-there-as-cheap-as-possible option.
Spirit joins Southwest as the only airlines that fy direct between Burbank and San Jose. You can catch a direct flight from Los Angeles' "other" airport to seven cities within California.
