Outdoor adverts drive entertainment industry growth – Operators

Experts have highlighted out-of-home advertising as a pivotal driver for the growth of Nigeria's entertainment industry.

According to a statement, the operators said this at the Location Marketing Award 2024, themed: "Unlocking the Power of Out-of-Home Advertising in Building the Nigerian Entertainment Industry", which was held recently in Lagos.

They emphasised out-of-home advertising's unmatched ability to reach diverse audiences within a short period.

They noted that OOH's strategic placements and visibility in urban areas were fuelling greater brand awareness and audience engagement, propelling the entertainment sector to new heights.

According to the statement, the conference explored innovative ways to harness OOH advertising as a propeller for the country's vibrant entertainment sector to new heights.

In his keynote address, the Managing Director of OMD West Africa, Yinka Adebayo, reechoed the impact of OOH advertising on Nigeria's entertainment and media landscape.

Adebayo said, "Out-of-home advertising plays a significant role in shaping Nigeria's entertainment and media landscape. If a business does not establish a strong presence, it risks being overlooked. Visibility is key to remaining relevant.

"I encourage stakeholders to explore collaboration and partnerships across industries to drive innovation and growth. By working together, we can amplify our impact and reach a wider audience."

The convener of the event, Kingsley Onwukaeme, said, "LOMA's primary focus is elevating excellence within the out-of-home advertising industry through our thought leadership sessions and maintaining integrity in our award processes."

He explained that by fostering innovation and promoting best practices, LOMA aimed to inspire stakeholders to uphold high standards in their advertising efforts.

Onwukaeme added that the organisation strived to create a transparent environment where achievements are recognised fairly.
