A fatal crash on Interstate 95 northbound in Boca Raton on Nov. 8, 2024.

According to the crash report, four vehicles were involved: A 2003 GMC Yukon, driven by a 60-year-old male from Pompano Beach; a 2016 Ford Transit driven by a 63-year-old male from Fort Lauderdale; a 2024 KIA Niro EV driven by a 47-year-old male from North Lauderdale; and a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500.

A 24-year-old male pedestrian from West Palm Beach, who was originally driving the Dodge Ram, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene at 5:54 a.m.

The report states the 24-year-old was standing to the left of his car, which was parked upon the center lane of northbound Interstate 95, south of Congress Ave. The GMC Yukon was traveling north on I-95 and maneuvered to the left to avoid the Dodge Ram, but the front of the Yukon collided with the pedestrian. The car then collided with a guardrail. The two other vehicles also attempted to avoid collision with the Dodge Ram, but did not.

The three other drivers did not sustain injuries.

FHP says this is an ongoing investigation.
