Ant and Dec issue apology after I'm A Celebrity hosts suffer awkward error live on air

Ant and Dec left viewers in hysterics during I'm A Celebrity Unpacked after the latter made an unfortunate faux pas. Appearing on the show's spin-off segment, host Joel Dommett asked the Geordie duo how this series is different from the first season of the show 20 years ago.

Ant explained that one major difference was the location, saying, "Well, it wasn't here; it was up in Northern Australia near Cairns, so it was a lot hotter."

Dec replied: "And it was a really thick bush," which he accompanied with an unfortunate hand gesture.

The presenter burst into hysterics as the whole team struggled to compose themselves after the awkward slip.

He clarified: "Thick jungle, thick jungle," while Joel joked: "That's all we have time for."

Ant continued to tease his co-host and best friend, saying, "Yeah, yeah, it was a thick, thick bush."

Joined on the sofa by Sam Thompson and Kemi Rodgers, Ant added: "I am so sorry, Kemi," as she joked: "Don't worry, it has just reminded me to get a wax when I get home."

Viewers flocked to comment on the on-air blunder as one person on X wrote: "This was hilarious watching it live. Kemi's brilliant, hope she gets more presenting jobs after this."

Another tweeted: "I was crying, the way everyone lost it to, hilarious."

A third quipped: "Got to be one of the funniest moments ever on #imacelebrity."

"That was the best ever line...," a viewer commented.

While a fourth person added: "Watched this again and I'm still crying with laughter."

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight at 9pm
