Murder Investigation Under Way After Human Remains Are Found At Royal Family Holiday Estate!

human remains found in royal family holiday estate

Sounds like the Royal Family might wanna find another holiday spot while this all gets sorted out!

Yesterday, Norfolk police announced that human remains were discovered on Sandringham estate, which is the Royal Family's holiday home.

According to a statement posted on the Norfolk Constabulary's site, a "member of the public found the remains on New Year's Day."

Now, we've learned that the remains belong to a woman, and while there is no concrete information yet on when/how she died, a murder investigation is under way.

Here's what Detective Chief Inspector Jes Fry had to say about it:

"We are at the very early stages of the investigation and it could be a complex inquiry. The body had been there for some time."

"The circumstances suggest this is a murder case and we are looking at missing persons reports and cold cases both locally and nationwide."

More from Fry:

"Entomology and pathology work is under way and we expect the body to be recovered and taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn later today."

"The body has been in situ for some time but I can't comment on whether that is weeks, months or years. It is the body of a female but I cannot comment on her age."

Hopefully they're able to get this all sorted out soon! Very, very disturbing.
