Get ready for some spice during the closing ceremonies of the London Olympic games on Sunday.
The Spice Girls are expected to put on their platform shoes, along with a jam-packed roster of some of Britainâs most famous musical acts, for closing ceremonies that will showcase 30 British hits from the past five decades, The Associated Press reported.
The Who, George Michael and Muse are expected to rock the event, along with a roster of performers who are being kept under wraps by organizers.
âItâs not anything desperately profound,â chair of the games, Sebastian Coe, told the AP. âItâs not the opening ceremony but I think it will be great. Itâs basically a tribute to British music over the last few decades. Itâs fun.â
Aside from the music, viewers can expect the usual ceremonial events, which include an athletesâ march and raising the flag of Greece, where the Olympics were born.
Brazil, the host country of the 2016 games, will present a music and dance section before the Olympic cauldron is extinguished, marking the handover of the games to Rio de Janeiro.
