Producers of these shows donated a portion of ticket sales to ECF, with proceeds supporting the non-profit's programs and services.
Since August 2023, a slew of Broadway shows have held performances with blocks of tickets dedicated to supporting the Entertainment Community Fund as part of their Producer's Picks program. Producer's Picks tickets are donated by the producers of each show, and ticket buyers' purchase then goes to support the ECF's programs and services.
ECF is a national human services organization that addresses the unique needs of people who work in performing arts and entertainmentâ"they have services focused on health and wellness, career and life, and housing.
Recently, Merrily We Roll Along, Spamalot, How to Dance in Ohio, and Harmony have each held a show in support of the ECF. Check out photos and their words of support for the Entertainment Community Fund below.
"All of us working on Merrily We Roll Along are of the lucky minority of employed theatre artists," Jonathan Groff said at a recent curtain call. "The large majority of our industry works paycheck to paycheck, and they depend on organizations like the [ECF] to fill in the gaps. Since COVID, since 2020 alone, the [ECF] has raised and distributed over $48 million to people in our industry. It's not just actorsâ"it's the front of house, it's the ushers, it's the crew, it's the band members, it's the family members of all of the artists working in our industry."
"Anyone who has made a life in the entertainment community, this fund is vital to us," Harmony's Sierra Boggess said at a January curtain call. "We know as artists, and everyone who has chosen this life, it is a very unpredictable business...this fund is incredibly helpful in all of those times."
"Your family, my family, people's mamas, [are supported by the ECF]," Spamalot's James Monroe Iglehart said at a January curtain call. "Our wonderful Leslie [Rodriguez Kritzer]'s mother stayed at one of the houses [from] the Entertainment Community Fund for two years during the pandemic. They took care of her. They are a wonderful organization that is really really near and dear to us."
