George Galloway may have had a controversial political career that has often grabbed headlines, but reality TV fans will remember him as a 'cat' in a cringe Celebrity Big Brother moment.

The former Labour MP is set to return to Parliament for the first time in nine years after winning the Rochdale by-election.

Galloway's political career has been dogged by various controversies, after being expelled from the Labour Party in 2003 for his views on the Iraq war before forming The Workers Party of Britain in 2019.

Outside of politics, the 69-year-old is best known for his CBB appearance in 2006 for the fourth season of the show alongside the likes of Pete Burns, Faria Alam, Michael Barrymore, Preston, and Chantelle Houghton.

Despite lasting only three weeks in the house before being evicted, he packed a lot into his time including the 'most embarrassing' reality TV politician moment, according to Metro.co.uk readers.

In 2022, when Matt Hancock confirmed his I'm A Celebrity stint, we asked readers to vote for the most embarrassing moments politicians have haunted the nation with when they've decided to dip their toes into the world of reality TV.

And one horrifying CBB moment came out on top – Galloway's cringe-inducing cat antics with fellow housemate Rula Lenska.

For those who don't have the interaction burned into their brain – or for those who want to relive it for whatever reason – the politician pretended to be a cat in an awkward role-playing session with Lenska, 76.

Sat on a neon orange sofa, Galloway asks Lenska, 'Now would you like me to be the cat?' to which she purrs, 'Yes please' before praising the 'good pussycat and good girl.'

As Galloway licks his lips, and at one point pretends to lap up water from Lenska's palms, she strokes and caresses him.

His stay in the CBB house got off to a bad start, being met by resounding boos as he crossed the famous walkway – and it didn't get much better.
