With Celebrity Reflection's new three- and four-night itineraries, vacationers will now be able to escape every weekend for the first time. These itineraries will offer nearly 40 opportunities to enjoy Perfect Day, along with visits to the white sand beaches of Bimini

Hollywood and Formula One are having a moment

The world of Formula One is abuzz with the news that Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds, Rob McElhenney and Michael B. Jordan are leading an eye-popping $218 million investment in the Alpine F1 Team.

The move by the American actors is somewhat surprising. Alpine is a French team led by two French drivers, Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly, and it is hardly a household name in the U.S. But the decision to lend money and star power to the cause represents a vote of confidence among the Hollywood luminaries in the future of Formula One and the vast potential of the American market.

It adds to the growing ties between Formula One and the U.S. film industry, painting a brighter future for the sport through its penetration into American popular culture. Brad Pitt is starring in a Formula One-themed movie he's making with Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time world champion. And Netflix's "Drive to Survive," which is fueling American interest in the sport, has been confirmed for a sixth season.

"What they're thinking is that it's mutually beneficial. When these different areas of media reflect on one another, it's going to have crossover and bring fans from one into the other," said Grant Wiedenfeld, an associate professor of media and culture at Sam Houston State University in Texas and the author of the 2022 book "Hollywood Sports Movies and the American Dream."

"Maybe there's some aspect to the business, but I don't think it's [Reynolds'] accountant telling him to go invest in this. It's this crazy idea of 'Wow, this is an interesting scene to be involved in,'" Wiedenfeld said. "There's a sense of adventure to it. ... It's unexpected, and that's what makes it exciting for him and the public to follow along with it."

With a record three American races on the calendar, as well as an American team in Haas F1 and an American driver in Logan Sargeant, the seeds of future growth are planted. But U.S. viewership still trails that of NASCAR and other sports, like pro football.

"We've seen a major increase on social media with Formula One in the last year. It has an appeal that's different from NASCAR or IndyCar, the domestic leagues — probably because of its diversity, the diverse location of drivers and races," Wiedenfeld said. "I'd be surprised if it can knock NASCAR off its perch, but I think it's definitely going to have a foothold."

The Reynolds-led firm Maximum Effort Investments said it's focused on "unlocking value through the power of storytelling, and we believe there is tremendous untapped potential in Alpine Racing."

Reynolds needed no introduction to Alpine's stars.

"I must say I'm personally a fan of him and his work!" Gasly told reporters Thursday ahead of this weekend's Austrian Grand Prix. "He's definitely one of my favorite actors. And yeah, definitely super excited to meet him at some point during the season."

Gasly said the U.S. investors and the firms they're fronting will help "to expand, to improve" on the vision of the Alpine team.

"They got really good expertise in also other sports — NFL, NHL, in football, in many other disciplines — that we'll be trying to use as much as we can to improve our strength," he said.

Ocon told Autosport that the news was "fantastic" and that he and Reynolds have exchanged WhatsApp messages since the deal was finalized.

But if Reynolds and McElhenney believe they can bring championship glory to Alpine the way they did for the Welsh lower-league soccer club Wrexham, they have a long way to go.

Eight races in, Alpine is a distant fifth in the 2023 constructor standings, taking a step backward from last year, when it finished fourth. It hasn't won a championship since 2006, when it was known as Renault and secured back-to-back titles with Fernando Alonso leading the way. The sport's new cost cap rules mean the influx of cash can't be directly used to improve the car.

Alpine was the subject of personnel drama last year when Alonso abruptly left for Aston Martin and, soon after, reserve driver Oscar Piastri snubbed the team by signing for McLaren, instead. Behind-the-scenes details of the chaos were documented in "Drive to Survive."

Alpine CEO Laurent Rossi said in a statement that the U.S. investors' acquisition of a 24% stake in the team will "boost our media and marketing strategy," as well as help build new equipment and facilities to try to reach his goal of "catching up with top teams."

For Hamilton, the movie with Pitt isn't his first brush with Hollywood. He told Vanity Fair that Tom Cruise, whom he calls a friend, asked him to play a fighter pilot in "Top Gun: Maverick." He was elated by the prospect — until he learned that filming would conflict with his racing duties. He turned Cruise down in what he described as "the most upsetting call that I think I've ever had" to make.

Hamilton still hasn't let it go.

He told Motorsports News this month that he's not sure he'll be on screen in the new movie with Pitt and that he's playing more of a background role in terms of "making sure that it's diverse, making sure the sport looks how it's supposed to look in the future in terms of being more accessible."

"I'll wait for my proper movie debut later on, because I'm going to need to train and practice. I don't want to suck at it," he quipped. Then he added: "If 'Top Gun 3' ever happens, I'm going to be in it. And I will miss the race, just so you know."

Stream It Or Skip It: 'Celebrity' On Netflix, A K-Drama About The Dark Side Of Being An Influencer

It seems that there's been a trend lately to show the "dark side of social media," mostly through docuseries that show either how hard it is on people's psyches or how fake it can be. But a new K-drama takes that concept a little further: What if the dark side of social media actually involved murder?

Opening Shot: Shots of a humble restaurant. Then a woman wearing expensive clothes walks in, gets the tofu and takes a picture. The Instagram post goes viral and makes the humble restaurant into a go-to destination.

The Gist: The woman who took the picture is Seo A-ri (Park Gyu-young), who has become a celebrity via being a popular influencer, with over a million Instagram followers. In her narration, she asks the viewers if they wonder who these people are and how they become so popular? She sits down in front of a livestreaming phone and starts to tell her story, saying she learned a "cheat code" in order to gain that fame.

It wasn't that long ago that A-ri was broke, and she didn't even have social media apps on her phone. She was raised in wealth, but by the time she was 18, her dad had died, the company he founded was in shambles, and her mother Lee Hyeon-ok (Nam Ge-ok) started making a living repairing couture clothing for women who actually had money. A-ri sells cosmetics to the women who work on the staff of wealthy families, and she does well. Still, she's broke.

It's not like she doesn't wonder about what that life is like, as she spies the closet of Yoon Shi-hyeon (Lee Chung-ah), whose house she's in to sell cosmetics to her staff. But the world of influencers? She has no use for it, even as her friend Yoon Jeong-sun (Park Ye-ni) gives her the blow-by-blow between two influencers who used to be friends: Biniimom (Jin So-yeon) and Oh Min-hye (Jun Hyo-seong).

While shopping at Bulgari, Min-hye sees A-ri, whose there to buy something for her boss. She remembers A-ri her from high school, where A-ri was rich, popular and headed to an Ivy League school. Jeong-sun, who is with her, doesn't discourage the Ivy League angle, and interrupts A-ri when she starts to talk about what she really dies. Min-hye invites her to a party that will be rife with influencers.

She at first doesn't want to go, but changes her mind, just to get a look at how the wealthy and popular operate. She reluctantly dons a Saint Laurent dress her mom is repairing, and goes inside. Shi-heyon arrives and sees the dress, which she had out for repair, and covers for A-ri when she's asked where she got it. But when Biniimom storms in and slaps Min-hye, saying she'd be nothing without her, A-ri feels she's cracked the code: Latch onto an influencer and use them to build your own following. But as she says this on her livestream, everyone in her life is shocked to see her there at all.

What Shows Will It Remind You Of? Think Emily In Paris, but much, much darker, like it was crossed with I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Our Take: Celebrity, written by Kim Yi-young and directed by Kim Cheol-kyu, starts out slick and poppy, presenting the audience with a whirlwind of characters who happen to be social media influencers. But, in essence, the story comes down to how A-ri goes from broke and off social media to an incredibly wealthy social media celebrity in a short period of time, and what happened to her when she reached that level. That story is the one we're more interested in seeing.

The entire first episode more or less sets up A-ri's story and shows the players that are going to be a part of it. But sifting through all of these influencers, and realizing that Shi-heyon, is part of their "Gabin Society" but eschews social media, takes some concentration. Even then, it's confusing to sort it all out.

But when A-ri runs into Min-hye, the story comes into focus. A-ri is going to ride Min-hye's popularity to become a massively-famous influencer. But who she steps on along the way, and who might have wanted to harm her, will be the focus of the rest of the season. What we hope is that the show stays that focused, even if we go back and forth to A-ri becoming an influencer to the info she spills after everyone thinks she's gone. The hows and whys of that part will also be interesting to find out.

Sex and Skin: None in the first episode.

Parting Shot: During her livestream, A-ri sees the ID of the person who she thinks did her harm, and addresses them directly.

Sleeper Star: Kang Min-hyuk plays Han Jun-kyun, whom A-ri encounters outside the party and wants to report him for harassment after he tapped her on the shoulder. It feels like there's going to be a romantic thing there, or at least he'll be involved with A-ri in a way that changes the direction of his life.

Most Pilot-y Line: When A-ri's mom tells her that the both of them were born as high-class people, A-ri responds, "In reality, life is a trashy ditch." That's quite a colorful description.

Our Call: STREAM IT. The "dark side of social media" aspect of Celebrity isn't as intriguing as the actual mystery of what happened to A-ri, and we hope that's what the show concentrates on as we see how she became an influencer to begin with.

Bono's Musician Son Is Reportedly Dating Another Iconic Celebrity's Child

Bono's musician son, Elijah Hewson, is not only following in his father's career footsteps, he's also taking after his dad when it comes to his famous inner circle. Elijah, who is one of Bono's four children with his wife of over four decades, Ali Hewson, is the frontman of Inhaler, an up-and-coming Irish rock band. The 23-year-old guitarist and lead singer is also thriving in his personal life with a rumored new relationship with another celebrity child — supermodel Christy Turlington's daughter, Grace Burns.

Elijah and Grace, 19, have sparked dating rumors over the past couple of months by appearing in the background of various social media posts together. Grace has also been spotted a numerous Inhaler concerts and recently posted a video on TikTok that showed her and Elijah zooming through a city late at night on a scooter.

More from SheKnows

Grace is Turlington's oldest child with actor Edward Burns who has starred in films like Saving Private Ryan and 27 Dresses. They also share a 17-year-old son, Finn. Grace has been making waves in the modeling industry just like her famous mom who is often considered to be one of the 90s most iconic supermodels, alongside the likes of Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell. Recently, < a href="https://www.sheknows.com/entertainment/articles/2791903/christy-turlington-daughter-grace-burns-runway-debut/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" data-ylk="slk:Grace made her runway debut;elm:context_link;itc:0" class="link">Grace made her runway debut at a British Vogue X LuisaViaRoma event and she has also appeared in a campaign for Carolina Herrera.

Elijah and Grace are likely childhood friends. Bono and Turlington were reportedly close friends in the 90s and early 2000s. A 2003 report from People even claims the U2 frontman gave Turlington away at her wedding to Burns and also sang at the ceremony.

Elijah is the second youngest of Bono and Hewson's four children. The childhood sweethearts are also parents to Jordan, 34, Eve, 31, and John, 22. Elijah told GQ in 2020 that his parents weren't initially supportive of his decision to pursue music. "At the beginning they weren't really [supportive.] I mean, they wanted me to go to college, you know, like all of our parents. I think they just kind of saw that I loved it and that we were good," he said. We're sure, however, that the band's ongoing success has made Bono and his wife very proud parents.

The Celebrity Influence: Trading Cards on the Rise

The ownership of exclusive and rare items, from luxury cars to original art pieces, is a common pastime for many people, including celebrities. Some enjoy the chase, while others see it as a way to express how far they’ve come from the fruits of their labor. And since COVID-19, there’s been an emerging asset that’s beginning to hold newfound prestige in the entertainment world: trading cards.

In the age of social media and streaming, the trading card industry has recently seen a resurgence like no other time in its history. From the multi-platinum selling rappers Drake and Snoop Dogg to beloved actors Bryan Cranston and Mark Wahlberg, entertainers from all walks of life are diving head first into the “the hobby”â€" the term used by collectors, traders, and sellers to refer to the trading cards industry as a whole.

At the helm of this resurgence is Dappz Sports: a Los Angeles-based media company and 24/7 live-stream shopping experience for the most passionate enthusiasts in card collecting. Headed by Matthew McGuckin (aka as Dappz), Dappz Sports started as a passion project shot on a webcam and has since catapulted into the top media company in the hobby, with a passionate global following. Founded in 2019, Dappz Sports has amassed the largest social media following in the bobby that has surpassed a million active followers across all platforms.

“My grandfather was a scout for the New York Jets and I spent a lot of time in sports stadiums during my childhood,” Dappz  told me. “I always loved the memorabilia aspects of sports from signed jerseys, merchandise, and of course, sports cards. I grew up during the peak of the Pokemon era and collecting cards was huge back then.”

Despite his experiences with collecting cards as a child, Dappz wouldn’t revisit the hobby until there were echoes through the grapevine of a possible comeback. “I bought a few boxes of cards and combined the raw parts and slabs together with the hopes of flipping them for a profit. Soon enough, I found myself reselling cards for 5 times more than the price he got them for.” Once Dappz found himself earning $70,000 in a single night, he knew it was time to scale up. The creation of Dappz Sports was a chance to document every step of the process and add a layer of authenticity for the public to see firsthand. The 24/7 stream features all the wins, losses, triumphs, failures that come with the sports cards grind.

“We’re as transparent as it gets about what it takes to flip cards,” Dappz continued. “That’s what is so different about being in the hobby in this day and ageâ€" we have a chance to really bring people in on the journey. I recently purchased this card for $16,000 and was able to film the whole experience from the negotiation to the actual sale.” Dappz is personally passionate about this new level of interconnectedness and accessibility. Not everyone can buy and trade cards every week, but Dappz Sports allows viewers a chance to get in on the action and be a witness to it during all the highs and lows of the process.

With the increased following comes a greater impact and influence. That same card that Dappz bought ignited a flame in the Star Wars card market, which only recently came into prominence. The same $150 box that spawned the high-value card at the time of the deal now costs $800â€" a 7x increase in 18 months. Dappz Sports was no longer just reporting on the market, they were actively moving the market by giving cards the spotlight they deserve.

Today, the market for Star Wars cards has grown significantly and has caught the eye of the multi-millionaire DJ, Steve Aoki, who began his collecting pursuits in the midst of the pandemic. When Topps released its 2022 Star Wars Galaxy Chrome box, Aoki went on the huntâ€" spending tens of thousands of dollars in his chase for specific cards. He scored a prestigious one-of-one Darth Vader card at Golden Auctions for $24,000 and eventually called on his friend Dappz to help secure a one-of-one Yoda card for $15,000 recently.

McGuckin sat down with Aoki to pick his brain about his collecting journey. Aoki expressed to him that he sees card collecting as the next wave of investment collection. “Cards are like art but they’re easier to resell,” Aoki told McGuckin during their chat. “If you walk into my house, you can see art. I have this ‘collector’s mindset’ and this falls in the same wheelhouse.”

While at first he was skeptical, Aoki was brought up to speed on card flipping by the likes of Gary Vee and Josh Luber after witnessing a friend of his flip a card for a $10,000 profit. While he started with sports cards, he also ventured into Dragon Ball Z, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Marvel, and Pokémon; the latter of which opened him up to the community aspect of card collecting. “Community is a big part of why I was so into it because they totally embraced me” he told McGuckin.

With big names like Aoki becoming prominent collectors, there will be more doors opening for trading cards to expand into the entertainment world. “I think over time, there’s going to be a genre for everybody,” said Dappz. “Think about when any celebrity or any influencer releases some type of merchandise drop, they may sell out in a day. Now imagine they create 10 exclusive cards. Their fans would go crazy. It brings more people into the marketâ€" completely different worlds connected through cards.”

Connecting those different worlds is ultimately what Dappz as a brand aims to do. “I see a day where we have 100 different streams where we’re showcasing everything from collectibles, toys, signed memorabilia and more. Live streaming is the future of shopping and Dappz, as a brand, is ready to sell anything that fits into that future.”

Hilary Duff Just Wore the "Perfect" Summer Sandal From This Celebrity-Favorite Shoe Brand

Dotdash Meredith and Yahoo Inc. may earn commission or revenue on some items through the links below.

Shoppers say it's "incredibly comfortable."

If you could see my shoe rack, which has officially overflowed onto the ground next to it, you'd ask me, "Why the hell are you looking at new sandals?" And I'd respond that I have a good reason. With at least four styles I wear on repeat (and more I'm slowly filtering in), my limit had — or so I told myself — officially been reached. But then I saw Hilary Duff wearing a pair of surprisingly modern sandals and, well, now they're in my cart.

It pleasantly surprised when I found out the chunky sandal the How I Met Your Father star paired with oversized capris was actually from everybody's favorite sandal brand — Birkenstock. Yes, the brand behind the iconic Arizona sandal and the always sold-out Boston clog stunned me with a style I didn't know existed before, but immediately knew I needed. Diverging from the long list of celebrities including Tracee Ellis Ross, Katie Holmes, and Gwyneth Paltrow who've opted for the brand's strappy staple, Duff wore the brand's thick, suede-strapped Kyoto style.

Shop now: $150; nordstrom.com and zappos.com

The Kyoto sandal finds something of a balance between some of Birkenstock's hottest styles. Like the Boston, the Kyoto has an ultra-soft suede upper while leaning into what the brand is most known for: comfort. The footbed is made out of a cork and latex blend designed to form to your foot for support where you need it, while the hook and loop strap allows for easy adjustments.

According to shoppers, this style is "incredibly comfortable," with one one shopper writing that the shoe has a "perfect arch support" and fit. One person said that after trying on their first pair, they immediately went online to grab a second, explaining that they didn't "want to risk being without" the "unbelievably comfortable" shoes. And according to another customer, the Kyotos are "by far the best pair" of Birkenstocks they've bought, with the adjustable strap keeping the sandals "very secure" on their feet.

Shop now: $150; nordstrom.com and zappos.com

In addition to being designed with comfort in mind, these sandals — available in four colors between Nordstrom and Zappos — are chic, with a look customers describe as "modern." "They are stylish and work with pants and dresses," wrote a shopper who was impressed with the quality of the shoe, which they estimated "should last for decades." And another shopper loved that the summer shoe was both "practical" and "very stylish."

Each year we get a new 'It' Birkenstock, and if Duff's latest sandal is any indication of what's next, we expect the brand's Kyoto slide to be the star this summer. Grab the sandal shoppers and stars love for $150 today.

Amplifying Talent, Embracing Diversity: Database Redefines Representation In The Entertainment Industry

(MENAFN- ein presswire)

the disabled voice actors database is helping revolutionize and diversify the entertainment industry

buffalo, new york, usa, june 29, 2023/einpresswire / -- maria pendolino , an award-winning voice actor and disability advocate is collaborating to help revolutionize and diversify the entertainment industry through the disabled voice actors database . this groundbreaking actor-led initiative aims to provide visibility and opportunities for disabled voice actors, showcasing their immense talent and breaking down barriers in the industry.

as someone working in the entertainment industry with a passion for advocating for disability inclusion, pendolino has taken a volunteer leadership role alongside other disabled talents in the ongoing development of a free online database, which serves as a comprehensive resource for casting directors, producers, and content creators seeking diverse and authentic voices for their projects.

by featuring talented disabled voice actors, the database aims to challenge stereotypes, increase representation, and foster inclusivity in the entertainmen t industry. it's free for talent to list themselves in the database, and free for the casting and producing community to use it.

"i believe in the power of storytelling and the strength that lies within each individual's unique voice," said pendolino. "the disabled voice actors database is a transformative platform started by actors for actors that will not only open doors for disabled talents, but also inspire positive change and greater inclusivity in the industry."

the database will give casting directors easy access to a list of talented disabled actors that are open for new projects. the volunteer leadership team of the database hopes this will solve for production saying: we just couldn't find a qualified disabled actor for this role.

"the database is a priceless resource in my casting process, says danielle prestfelder demchick, casting director and owner of dpd casting and vp, advocacy, casting society."disabled performers are more accessible to casting directors for all roles; both roles that tell disabled characters' stories, and non disabled roles, through the database. so often i am asked 'how' to find performers of certain lived experiences, by both producers and my casting director peers, and the disabled voice actors database makes finding disabled actors seamless and efficient."

"the database is crucial because it provides much needed visibility to talents who have disabilities," said nick germain, another member of the volunteer leadership team and creator of the first iteration of the database."there is the visibility to each other, which unites all of us, and creates a solidarity amongst actors who happen to be disabled."

the volunteer leadership admin team of the database is comprised of six disabled actors. as a group, they've been recognized as a nominee for this year's diversability d30 honors.

"people with disabilities are the largest minority in the world," said tony jackson, anothe r database volunteer admin."entertainment is widely seen as a reflection of real life. yet, people with disabilities are woefully underrepresented in the entertainment industry."

"although we'd all like to think of the entertainment world as progressive, the reality is that disabled actors still make less money and get offered fewer roles than their able-bodied counterparts," said pendolino.

if you are a disabled voice actor, you can be added to the database by filling out an intake form . if you have casting authority, you can request access to the database at . for more information about the disabled voice actors database, visit .

A Brief History of Hollywood Writers’ Strikes

The ongoing Writers Guild of America strike, which brought Hollywood to a screeching halt in May, comes at a once-in-a-generation inflection point for the entertainment industry.

A decade of changes in viewing habits has resulted in a consumer base that wants to watch more content, but pay for less of it — and do so primarily on their own schedules without leaving the house. Hollywood's pivot to streaming created a brief gold rush as legacy brands attempted to build up these subscriber bases with massive quantities of content. But the past year has slowly seen studios and networks come to the collective realization that their business model isn't viable as it stands.

More from IndieWire

The artists who actually make the content that fuels the Streaming Wars face an equally frustrating predicament. Streaming may have created more jobs in the short term, but it has eroded the residuals that once formed the bedrock of a writer's income. Screenwriters are working more, earning less, and being asked to come to terms with the idea that their work can be removed from streaming circulation at any moment — and for any reason. The WGA went on strike with the intention of not just securing more resourc es for its members, but reaching a new understanding about the ways in which studios and artists can coexist in this unfamiliar and fraught era.

In some ways, the current situation is unprecedented. But the story of Hollywood writers striking when technological innovations threaten their established income sources is not new. The WGA has gone on strike eight times since forming in 1933, most recently in 2007. Many of the strikes were tied to emerging technologies that threatened to fundamentally alter the way Hollywood distributes entertainment — and were ultimately resolved once the guild felt that writers had been assured an appropriately-sized slice of the new pie.

Anyone looking for clarity about the current ambiguity facing Hollywood would be well advised to study the history of writers strikes. While streaming profitability (or the lack thereof) and artificial intelligence are uniquely 21st century problems, many of the previous strikes unfolded in similar ways. Keep reading for a chronological history of WGA strikes, including the ways that Hollywood resolved the first seven work stoppages — running alongside photos of the current actions still playing out in New York and Los Angeles.

John Mulaney reveals the most brutal celebrity reactions to his Saturday Night Live pitches

Even for an accomplished comedian like John Mulaney, every joke can't be a winner — and sometimes the bombs can be a bit brutal.

On the latest episode of Hot Ones, the former Saturday Night Live writer and veteran stand-up comic revealed some of the most humbling reactions to his SNL pitches that were rejected by celebrity guests.

Speaking over a plate of increasingly diabolical hot wings, host Sean Evans asked Mulaney about the worst times he'd been shot down by SNL hosts, without the need to name names. With about a half-second of hesitation, Mulaney replied, "Josh Brolin." Although in the long run, the Avengers: Infinity War actor may have done him a favor with his frankness.

"Josh Brolin went, 'Well, this isn't funny,' as I was writing something and I started to walk him through it," Mulaney recalled. "He went, 'Yeah, no, but that's not funny.' And it was so matter-of-fact, I wouldn't even call it the worst. I found it very refreshing."

Reconsidering the situation, Mulaney noted that Brolin's candid feedback came "early enough on Tuesday night that I didn't precede with it" for that week's show. "It was such a gentlemanly exchange of ideas," he added, that Brolin did him "quite a service."

Mulaney went on to discuss the time that none other than Mick Jagger axed one of his SNL gags. "The joke was, 'I'm Mick Jagger, so mothers, lock up your daughters — or should I say daughters, lock up your mothers,'" Mulaney explained.

But the Rolling Stones frontman "listened and he went, 'Nah, I don't like that.'"

Fortunately, Mulaney reserved the actual gift of being rebuffed by Jagger for his SNL colleague Seth Meyers.

"We were going over a bunch of jokes and we got to that one," Mulaney said. "When we got to that one, I just handed it to Seth. 'That one, you can read that one.'"

The Best Celebrity-Owned Tequilas You Should Know

collage of three tequila bottlesThese are the celebrity tequilas worth trying. Observer

Whether you thank George Clooney for his major role in helping launch the A-list tequila trend, or curse him with its creation, the fact of the matter is that celebrity-backed tequila is here to stay. Casamigos, which Clooney and his business partner, Rande Gerber, debuted in 2013, opened the door to a new luxury market, and over the years, tons of other celebs have found their own niche brands, eager to diversify their portfolios and capitalize on the lucrative success of celebrity-backed tequila brands.

Gerber and Clooney further proved that the booze business could be hugely profitable; in 2017, the duo sold Casamigos to Diageo for a staggering $1 billion, solidifying the standing of celebrity-backed tequila. That celeb pool has only broadened over the years, and it's not just A-list actors eager to get involved in the tequila sector. Everyone from musicians like Nick Jonas and Metallica to former NBA star LeBron James, and even a famously spiky-haired chef, are getting in on the action.

All of these famous faces jumping into the rapidly expanding (and financially rewarding) tequila industry have continued to raise the profile of the humble agave spirit. It seems like more high-end, super-premium, celeb-endorsed bottles are released every single year, and the trend is only growing. By 2022, more than 60 percent of spirits revenue came from super-premium spirits, with total sales from tequila and American whiskey leading in that category, according to the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States. That growth means that some bottles will, undoubtedly, be better than others. Se e below for a guide on which ones to try.

    Casamigos. Casamigos

While George Clooney and Rande Gerber may not be quite as involved with Casamigos now as they were when they first launched the brand, they certainly left their mark. Casamigos is still one of the highest-quality celebrity tequilas out there, and the line has since expanded to include not just blanco and reposado, but also añejo, cristalino and even a mezcal. While all of these expressions can be sipped, the blanco and reposado make for a great top-shelf margarita or tequila-based cocktail.

    Bottle of different colored tequilla.

    Bottle of different colored tequilla.

    Calirosa.

Rosé wine is as popular as ever, but what about rosé tequila? Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo founded Calirosa tequila in 2021, after falling in love with the pink spirit on trips to Mexico. It's produced by the Real family, a third-generation tequila producer who have been making the spirit in Amatitán, Jalisco since 1942. The rosé tequila, also called "rosa" or "rosado," gets its signature color from a brief resting period of just a few weeks in California wine casks that formerly held cabernet sauvignon. The lingering tannins from the oak and wine mellow the spirit, and offer gentle notes of strawberry and honey with a light finish. The reposado, añejo and extra añejo iterations receive more resting time in those barrels, and those smooth ver sions are just as easy to drink as the original pink expression.

The Rock holding a glass of whiskey.

    Teremana.

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's tequila brand is just like the actor himself: clean, lean and consciously made to be exceptional. Leftover agave fibers are repurposed into compost while the waste water runs through an advanced water filtration system. The tequila is made in partnership with the Lopez family, third-generation agave growers who also happen to be second-generation distillers, who only make small batches in copper pot stills to maintain quality. The two aged spirits rest in American white oak. Look for bottle expressions such as blanco, reposado and añejo. It's very reasonably priced, too.

    818 Tequila.

Kendall Jenner named this tequila after the area code of her Los Angeles hometown, Calabasas. The brand launched in 2021 to massive sales, going viral almost immediately. 818 Tequila is made in Jalisco, Mexico, using agave from family-owned farms, with a focus on sustainability and transparency. Jenner features heavily on the branding (what else would you expect of the Kardashian-Jenner family?), which has surely contributed to 818 Tequila's success and popularity.

    Casa Del Sol.

Actress Eva Longoria's Casa Del Sol is a love letter to her Mexican roots. The company is entirely Mexican-owned, and puts quality first. It's made from 100 percent blue weber agave, harvested from a particularly rich and fertile part of the highlands of Jalisco. Even the label  is a sign of respect, with an image that represents Mayahuel, the Aztec goddess of agave and fertility. The tequila is aged in French oak barrels, and the result is a rich yet complex spirit, with tons of toasted oak, raisin and notes of  apricot and vanilla.

    Santo.

Tequila has never been more rock and roll, thanks to the pairing of two legends: singer and guitarist Sammy Hagar and chef Guy Fieri. The tequila is produced at Tequila El Viejito Tototlan, Jalisco, by Juan Eduardo Nuñez, a third-generation master distiller who is renowned for his quality spirits. The blanco tequila is made from 100 percent blue weber agave and harvested from the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico; Hagar and Fieri call it "a higher spirit." That spirit is apparent in the overall smoothness with layers of white pepper, citrus and a hint of floral notes.

    Lobos.

LeBron James famously first tasted Lobos 1707 while vacationing on a yacht in the Mediterranean. The quality and flavor of the spirit, which is made using 100 percent blue weber agave, sourced from Los Altos de Jalisco in Mexico, clearly made an impression on James, because after returning to land, the NBA star quickly jumped in as an investor. Founded by Diego Osorio, whose family has been making tequila since the 16th century, and CEO Dia Simms, the Lobos 1707 is a joven, which consists of blanco tequila blended with their Lobos Reposado. This results in a golden hue and complexity, and it is then aged in American white oak barrels, followed by a resting in Spanish Pedro Ximinez sherry casks. All of this adds rich fruit and a light, peppery finish.

    Villa One.

Music, fashion and the business of tequila all come together thanks to this partnership between musician Nick Jonas and designer John Varvatos. The story goes that the two initially bonded over their mutual love of music, fashion and tequila while attending a dinner party. They subsequently decided to launch Villa One, and brought in master distiller Arturo Fuentes (often referred to as the "Godfather of tequila") as their head distiller. The brand uses agaves that have been harvested from both the highlands and lowlands of Jalisco, and the results are a dream. Villa One makes a blanco that's perfect for mixing, while the reposado and añejo, with hints of banana and vanilla, are great for leisurely sipping.

    Flecha. Flecha

What do PGA golfer Abraham Ancer and entrepreneur Aron Marquez have in common? The tenacity to convince actor Mark Wahlberg to invest in their tequila, even after an initial rejection. These days, Flecha Azul is a thriving brand in the premium tequila market. Expressions come in blanco, reposado, cristalino, añejo and even an extra añejo. The aged spirits have notes of spice and praline, while the cristalino, an aged and triple-filtered añejo, finishes lighter, but with a built-in complexity.
